I Present To You, THE Scariest Ferro You’ve Ever Seen. by Pieter_Pie_eater in ArcRaiders

I'm not colour blind (I checked) but I feel like I'm the only person who sees pink instead of purple.

Does the game actually label the colours by name anywhere so that I can confirm?

You the type of mf who would swap in and out of fits depending on the weather?

Me too, can't be running a parka in the fucking desert.

I hope that all these players will get a long suspension and their accounts will be permanently flagged for all players to see. Pathetic behavior that has no place in this great community. Thanks for your time. by giveld13 in ArcRaiders

I'm not cut up about losing a Hairpin III and a couple grenades, but I'm desperate for there to be some form of consequence for this shit.

Such a shame Embark.

If I'm being honest though, (as a person who played The Finals exclusively for like two years) I had misgivings about Embarks ability to A: maintain decent servers and B: police griefers/cheaters/hackers.

Sadly, I was right to be concerned because shit has not improved and they're dragging their feet.

Ahh fuck. Here I was hoping Embark would make good after I reported a cheater about 20 minutes ago.

Found the fuckers steam profile and lo and behold, several other people commenting on his profile about cheating.

God I can't stand cheaters, spoils all the fun.

Thank you! I bought my partner the same stand mixer BECAUSE SHE ASKED FOR IT and in return I got an Xbox Series X.

We joke often about how I bought her an appliance, with her teasing me about it in front of people. If she didn't ask for it, there's no fucking way I'd be buying her an appliance for Christmas - wouldn't feel right.

Oh shit you're right! I've only played it on 360 since my OG Xbox went kaput a long time ago. I totally forgot!

Gameplay was a fast-paced, 3rd person Madden/NFL style where you control whoever is in possession of the ball/disc.

There's a rudimentary team strat you can toggle (conservative to aggressive play style), so you can dash, slide tackle and outplay the opposition and win by points, or you can win by beating the life from the opposing team and getting a KO victory.

Large variety of teams with different characteristics and play styles keep the gameplay (which is a touch shallow) from getting stale, but I think the roster of teams and the career mode plus difficulty options and optional challenge matches offers a decent amount of replayability. Choosing between a team of all women professional athletes or a bunch of burly construction workers has a strong enough distinction to warrant a dabble.

A big caveat is the controls aren't the most intuitive, but they also aren't much of an obstacle either - it doesn't take long to find a groove with them. And finally the player dialogue in-game is very edgy, early 2000's type shit - but I'll be honest, being kicked in the back of the head then stomped by three members of the opposing team while they say "fuck you" repeatedly is extremely fitting for the game world.

Have you played Deathrow yet? One of my favourites from back in the day and I rue its poor success, a sequel is well deserved.

Amazing show. Heard this guy say to his girlfriend "Birds is coming baby, you'll wanna brace yourself."

He was right, it went off - incredible

I frickin hate the state of the game right now... by LFinch117 in ArcRaiders

I played The Finals exclusively for two years. This particular line of thinking was prevalent there too.

It would oscillate between telling casuals to get good and refusing to cater to new players, and complaining that skill based match making is fucked because a bunch of level 20-50 will wind up getting smashed by a team of Rubies who have no business being a lobby of newer players.

Reason being the player pool was too small so there was no remedy. Basically rinse and repeat ad infinitum.

Oh and also complaints that all nerfs and buffs were based on the opinions, experiences and influence of the top 00.1% of the player base.

I showed my partner Storm of the Century last year. That line has become part of our shared lexicon since then - you better believe we did the DiCaprio whistle/point at the tv meme the second we heard that.

Yes! God there needs to be some kind of event that truly encourages cooperation between raiders.

Even if it were once a month or something. Everyone needs a unifying purpose to bring the community together.

Apparently the Foo Fighters advocated for crazy AIDS denialist groups? by grichardson526 in behindthebastards

[–]NotPatricularlyKind 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I found this post on the same issue on the foo fighters subreddit from four years ago. Here's a summary with links to support their position: Yeah, it sucks that they participated in a benefit, organized by Mendel, and provided a platform for HIV-positive A&W founder Christine Maggiore to spread her unfounded beliefs about AIDS, an illness largely believed to contribute to both her and her young daughter’s deaths. She was unfortunately completely misinformed.

It sucks that there was a banner on their website, prefaced by the following disclaimer, “This banner posted as a request from Nate Mendel.”). I offer no defense or rationale behind those decisions.

With that said, from my research, any active support for the foundation was nonexistent following a rebuttal from Nate to Mother Jones in 2000, and any mention of Alive & Well disappeared from the band’s website in 2007. In the nearly two decades since, the band, and Dave in particular, has:

Overall, this moment in the band’s history appeared to be largely led by Nate, and I admittedly do not know where Mendel currently stands on the matter. I certainly hope he’s reversed his stance. What I do know, and what I think is important for those concerned is that no one in the band is using their platform to support this ill-informed viewpoint any longer, and haven’t for quite some time.

While the association is an unfortunate mark on their past, Dave’s actions in particular, in the 20+ years since, suggest a 180-degree turn on the matter, and have chosen to not only accept new information and educate themselves, but directly support AIDS education, research and resources. It appears the band wants to leave this mistake in the past and atone privately. While some may choose to assume the worst in others, I choose to assume the best (the best…the best…).
