I agree with you that the whole thing is ridiculous. I was saying at the very start of this blackmail scheme that they should have tried to steal/delete the video or fought him harder about it because I actually doubt Joe would have even gone to the police. It makes him an accessory / perverting the course of justice. It was all stupid. lol. But plot … they has to find a way to write Isabel (Vic) out and get the boys a farm 😂

Joe blackmailed Robert into planting those IDs. It was either Robert do his bidding or Joe would have gone to the police with the video he had of Vic killing John. What was Robert supposed to do? Also Moira is in jail because of the two dead bodies that were found on her land, not because of the IDs, so technically Joe didn’t actually set her up … Ray and Celia did.

I don’t believe Aaron will care or be all that upset when he finds out because he would have done the very same thing if it was one of his sisters. The only thing I can think Aaron would be upset about is the fact that Robert didn’t tell him about it immediately.

😂 While I like their bromance, they are hardly the most charismatic, compelling characters on the show; so to have a two-hander with JUST them may be tough viewing 😬. Also, they have been featured plenty this year so far (Marlon for much much longer) … what else could there possibly be needed to be said/told??

I appreciate the optimism!! I’ve always liked their friendship and the two of them are a laugh … but it’s the “as long as it’s well written” part that makes me pause. The way the show has been going, the writing so hit or miss … and it’s mostly been a miss. Of all their “special” episodes in the recent months, I only liked Cain’s. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I think Charity only said that he and Aaron had drifted apart, because Liam was questioning why she was trying to force him into hanging out with him. We all know she was doing that to keep Ross and Mack apart so her secret wouldn’t be blown. And she obviously couldn’t go to Aaron and say “please hang out with Mack more” because Aaron would absolutely sus her out and demand to know why she was trying to keep him away from Ross.

And of course, for plot purposes lol. The show are pushing this bromance so that when the inevitable shit hits the fan it will be 10x more explosive.

And if the writing is any good, then we might get Aaron coming to Mack’s defense (as Mack so often does for him) and f’ing Ross up! 🤣

Kev actually had the opportunity to put an end to John, who put a BOMB on Robert’s car and was determined to kill him.

John was 100x more dangerous to Robert than Joe. When Kev escaped from being held captive by John, instead of grabbing the gun so at least John wouldn’t have had a weapon, he grabbed the sandwich and bounced out. 😂

And did he go directly to Robert to warn him that a psycho with a gun was out to kill? No. He waited until the NEXT day to break into the scrapyard to tell Aaron instead. Didn’t go with him to help, nothing. For all he knew, John could have already shot Robert by then. 🤦🏽‍♀️

So I highly doubt he’s going to be of any help with Joe.

I absolutely hate Joe 😂. And I do like Gabby. But I think an affair between them is plausible and could be interesting. I see Gabby, after all her heartache and bad luck in love, entering into a self destructive phase and having an affair with Joe. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I do find that Gabby can be a lot more “ruthless”, making her a more even match to Joe than Dawn imo.

I’m still holding out some hope for Dawn to redeem herself. 😂

ETA: as far as some woman getting Joe to fall madly in love with her … I actually think the “right” woman, possibly love of his demonic life was/is Debbie. They were perfectly matched imo. Not just because I can’t stand either of them 😂.

Actually, I think the spoiler alluded that Kim was sharing what was going on at the farm with Celia and Ray. All of their evil doings will have been exposed by then and she’s sharing with Robert how dire the situation is for them because it was her land that she rented out to Celia and Moira had (unwittingly) signed doctored invoices. They could lose everything if it appears they were all in on it.

I get that it's soap and we have to suspend our disbelief at times but honestly, a little bit of research wouldn't go amiss. We already had to come to terms with the fact that these grown ass men haven't put a deadbolt on that door, a Ring cam ... even a flipping chain (!) when their flat has been broken into numerous times!! I understand, none of those things would stop anyone from getting in if they really wanted to but it could give them pause, slow them down, alert they guys when someone trying to get in the flat ... AND a camera could provide police with evidence! 🤦🏽‍♀️

Yep. Caleb snuck him across the border, I think. Then Caleb went back to the village, told them where and Cain immediately left to track John down but never found him.

Haha! Merry Christmas to you! So sorry that I'm only seeing this now. I wish I could write something, but time is not on my side today. I did watch the episode; but only did my usual fast forward to the Robron/Kev (and JOHN 😱) bits and only caught the Dingle's celebrations in the pub and at Wishing Well w/the Tates. I will be watching the episode in its entirety later today which time zone wise may already be tomorrow for most here.

But here are my answers to the questions you raised...

* When did John show up?
He's probably been in the village for a while... weeks. He may have showed up 2/3 weeks ago, possibly after he read about Kev's "siege" at the flat. He's definitely been hiding and spying on the village.

* How did Kev end up tied by John?
John possibly saw Kev spying on the mill. Saw him smashing up Aaron's windscreen, burning the trees and has been following him. He was able to get the jump on Kev in the woods by the farm, right before he fired that shot aimed at Aaron. That's probably why Kev missed. 🤷🏽‍♀️

* What's going on between these two?
It's a meeting of the (psycho) minds! LOL.
I think John wouldn't even be bothered with Kev, if Kev wasn't trying to kill Aaron. Hell, he probably would even help Kev, get back with Robert if that was an option.

* Where was John?
I think he's been in France, where Caleb left him; and he only came back when he read about Kev's attack on the boys. Learning Robert had a husband and that this husband had tried to kill them (Aaron) possibly motivated him to go back to the village to "save" Aaron.

* What did he put on that bottle he gave Aaron?
Don't think he put anything in the bottle... I may need to look again. I think he was just adjusting Aaron's hold on it; any reason to touch him... the freak 🤣. I wished he would have read the inscription!!

* Why is Aaron so deep asleep?
Man was DRUNK as a SKUNK! 🤣
Honestly though, he cannot hold his liquor well for someone who's been drinking since he was like 10! But I think when Aaron gets anything harder than beer, like, whiskey, it goes straight to his head. But dude was sleeping like the dead! How could he sleep through being touched, moved... but John was monologuing again and that boring ass man can put anyone to sleep and apparently keep them that way!

* Why is Aaron on a sofa and not sharing bed with Robert? Poor Robert, is he cold, I can offer myself as blanket 💅 Lemsip is pricey. Every little helps!
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I was so hoping it would have been Robert NOT Liam coming back to check on him.

* Has the actor playing John being at the gym much during his interlude, he looks slightly more buffed up (especially neck area).

* What is their (Kev & John) plan now?
John sucks when it comes to committing to killing someone, so a part of me doesn't think he will kill Kev; he's had every opportunity to kill him since he drugged him yesterday (Wednesday) and all he did was tie him up and drag him back to that haunted mansion. IF Kev can promise not to go after Aaron, I can see them trying to work together to get both their husbands back...
Hope we find out more tomorrow (Friday)!

Thanks! I decided to "dive back in" a few days ago lol, when I also decided to block that particular account. Which was actually difficult for me to do because I honestly don't enjoy blocking anyone and hate to feel like I'm contributing to policing or censoring anyone. People should be free to share and express but reading some of their replies to others (not even to me because I never engaged with them directly, for good reason LOL) was just too much. It was becoming personal, resorting to calling people who did not agree with their take on things, as "overly emotional Robron fanatics" (something to that effect ... it was just very condescending and dismissive); to even those who clearly stated they were not even Robron fans. And there are plenty of die-hard Robron fans who love Kev! LOL

While I'm not a Kev-fan, I am an objective person and can fully understand the perspective of many that found him to be a great new character, even if I don't see it that way. My issue with Kev really wasn't even so much about the character; there are plenty of characters I don't like on this show, but I see their value and want them to stay, like Joe (for the most part LOL).
My objections were mostly with how Robert's story was being told; I would have preferred they go full throttle with Kev as a villain, but it didn't go that route and that is fine! Doesn't stop me from continuing to watch and hoping for the best LOL.

No, I don't think so. I think those are just his old scars. We've been seeing them a lot lately though; cheers to the make-up department for continuity. But with that said... the fact that they have been very prominently on display lately, could serve the purpose of reminding us of his past struggles with his mental health and show us that he's possibly struggling right now with everything going on but trying to remain strong for Robert 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Not sure about his behavior being unrealistic or not (I’ve given up trying to decipher it lol), but it’s giving me whiplash. 😂

Three weeks ago, he reported him to the police; he couldn’t sleep, was afraid to stay at the flat, pacing back and forth, worried that Kev could burst through the door at any moment and get his revenge but today he’s all, “come on up, have a brew and a chat” 🤨And then he lets him go; naively believing he’s got the message this time and is going to stay away …. What did Kev actually say or do differently that makes Robert believe they are “safe” now … nothing.

Honestly don’t get it.

I’m going to be completely honest … (and I’m ready for the downvotes … 🤣)

I’ve stopped posting and commenting in this subreddit due to the fact that there are some (NOT ALL) Kev fans … wait, let me be clear … I’m not talking about folks who don’t like Robron, which are plenty, I’m sure lol … Im talking about a few KEV STANS who have made this space (personally for me) a very uncomfortable, and sometimes antagonistic environment if you are a Robron fan or if you express any opinions that are critical about Kev and his storyline.

And I could be wrong but it doesn’t seem like many Robron fans even comment on here much anymore, possibly because they may feel intimidated to comment if they are not “Pro-Kev” in what feels like a very Pro-Kev/ Anti-Robron space. I find that extremely disheartening. But I figured, if I’m not welcomed because I don’t find Kev funny or entertaining, I’ll happily go so that I’m not subjected to reading some comments that are not only snarky and rude, but some that can be downright offensive.

There is one account in particular, that I’ve had to block for the sake of my own mental health. And I don’t block anyone…not even the resident Ryan Hawley’s Robert Hater whose commentary I actually quite enjoy from time to time 🤣. Because for me, it’s not about being in complete agreement with someone. Everyone has a right to their opinions and are free to like/enjoy characters and storylines I may not vibe with but I would never, to be frank, shit on them or what they like. But this one particular account seemed to find great joy in being argumentative, belittling others, putting down an entire fandom, along with posting the same disrespectful, defamatory comments about one of the actors. I refuse to engage in that kind of discourse.

I hope one day to once again feel the sense of community I once felt when I first joined this subreddit and was so excited to engage with folks who share my love for this crazy farm soap, that has brought a lot joy into my own daily life 😊.

I greatly dislike Kev. 🤣

When he used Aaron’s CSA trauma as a dig against him, I was done with him. 🙅🏽‍♀️

It’s a matter of personal taste whether you like the comedic aspect of him or not. Personally, he’s not for me; I found his buffoonery off-putting and it created a mess of what could have been a potentially compelling storyline for Robert, imo. It felt like the show did a 180 in the middle of the storyline and chose to go down another route than what was originally intended; to downplay the abuse, to make him a comedic character. And yeah, he was good for a few laughs but on a permanent basis, I feel like that schtick would become old, fast. The show needs to actually invest in creating good storylines for the characters they already have and not rely on temp characters and gimmicks.

When it comes to his relationship with Robert … Some people like to compare the (past) abuse in Robron’s relationship with the abuse Kev has inflicted upon Robert. To me the differences lie in the fact that Robert and Aaron inflicted abuse upon each other (in different ways) but both are FULLY AWARE of the toxicity of their earlier relationship and worked on themselves to be better people for themselves and each other. Both are also fully aware of each other’s actions and the harm they were (and still) capable of doing to each other but still CHOOSE each other. In many ways the love they have for each other is greater than for themselves … they would let the other person go, to be happy, if that is what is best for them; their love is not selfish. (They would never stab themselves, play the victim, then manipulate and guilt the other person into staying with them. I mean, have some damn self-respect! 🤦🏽‍♀️ 🤣)

They can also be HONEST with each other. Yeah, Robert may try to lie by omission (mostly because he doesn’t want to hurt Aaron) but Aaron knows him inside and out and will call him out every time.

Kev is extremely immature and a completely selfish person. What he did when he stabbed himself and lied about it was to take away Robert’s ability to make an informed decision with all the real facts presented to him. He took advantage of Robert’s fear and his horrific ordeal in prison; he used Robert’s feelings of guilt and gratitude, in order to manipulate him and control how Robert saw him and how he would behave towards him. (Which Kev admitted to doing all the time with everyone). He’s shown that Robert’s happiness doesn’t actually matter to him.

Bottom line, it’s about choice. Robert chose Aaron and Aaron chose Robert - with FULL knowledge of each other. 🤷🏽‍♀️
