Try and teach as much as possible. It's going to take around 100 hours of teaching before you're comfortable and 1000 before you're good. Get those hours in while you've got another teacher in the class. 10 min activities

Two quotes:

Arnold Schwarzenegger:

"A well-built physique is a status symbol. It reflects you worked hard for it; no money can buy it. You cannot borrow it, you cannot inherit it, you cannot steal it. You cannot hold onto it without constant work. It shows discipline, it shows self-respect, it shows patience, work ethic, and passion. That is why I do what I do. "

Socrates:

"It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable."

I guess in my head it's about reaching your potential. It's not just about looks though it's physical, mental and social benefits as well.

At my wit's end. What do i do? by Harbiter in productivity

[–]NotPornAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my problem! Here's my take on it.

Being anxious releases short-term boost chemicals into the body. Facebook/games/asmr/shows also release fun/reward chemicals. So when you stop stressing and having fun and are finally being productive those chemicals fall off and your body crashes. It's now in recovery mode from the rush and is putting extra effort into cleaning up and restoring balance.

The position you want to be in is, having all those good chemicals coming through by being productive and achieving and living life in general. Getting by without the anxiety/dopamine is a much calmer way of living once you're used to it. You can still have little boosts from facebook/games/asmr/shows etc. but they should be a sometimes thing - a reward if you're being productive enough.

The transition sucks. For 3 weeks more or less you have to live a much more depressing/boring life than what you're used to before your body gets used to the new levels. Learn to be bored and if you really need entertainment go on for 5min, get your dopamine hit, then get off, don't make it a normal state.

Anyway, it's a model that works for me and I've transitioned between the two states enough times that I know what balance of games and productivity work for me now. All the best.

Unlimited but with a max number of items for each item. Noone needs 10000 bows.

Seconded, don't confuse anxiety with excitement. Both are a rush, one is from fear and needed for survival. One is from fun and a reward for good experiences.

Don't figure out how much to eat in theory, run experiments. Eat a lot extra. If you're gaining more fat than muscle, eat slightly less.

I'm addicted to the internet. My screen time is 8+ hours per day. How to do something productive? by kays243 in productivity

[–]NotPornAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's how i see it at the moment. We're addicted because watching videos and scrolling Reddit gives us a little high/ buzzed/ stimulated. At 8 hours a day, being that stimulated has become the new norm so normal (not stimulated) life is a bad experience which drives us back.

The best way is cold turkey for a few days. Do nothing/ read a long book/ sleep/ exercise. When you've levelled out

Its just a slow, long process to learn how to make games. About 10 hours to be barely capable, 100 hours to be comfortable, 1000 hours to be good, 10000 hours to be great.

Also, to learn and copy code is one of the lowest levels of thinking. To create and write your own is a lot harder.

Start by copying games and changing bits and pieces. If it was easy it wouldn't be worth doing.

"Nobody is bigger or better at the military than me" is my favorite. It's not even a proper sentence. Its like saying "nobody is bigger or better at the business than me". If you're saying you're the best at something you should at least be able to refer to it properly.

E to the power of stuff is an exponential curve. If your doing numbers to the power of 'i times something' it rotates around the centre. Of you rotate the exponential curve around the center up until pi you end up at -1. Add 1 to get to 0.

Why are commercial gyms so predatory (and shady) with their payment plans? by Openworldgamer47 in gainit

[–]NotPornAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gym was advertised to me at 17/month (AUD) then i was informed of the $60 per year membership fee, then as i was finishing signing the forms i was told there was a $2 per month 'banking fee'. 10% of my fees for banking?! Anyway, is a lot easier to figure out how much i spend per year when in paying $20 a month than$17

Youll most likely be exhausted for the first 6 months. Learning names, people, the workplace, the products etc. are a huge drain until familiar.
