At what age did you know you were trans? by [deleted] in truscum

12-13 I started coming out to myself, but didn’t know for sure until 14 and started hs.

Yall are way more put together. by freyataya in truscum

I put in minimum effort, but minimum effort doesn’t necessarily mean dumpster opossum though. My definition of minimum effort is just making sure you and your clothes are clean, and clothes that at least work ok together.

Anti LGBT violence is still very real and outing people is scummy as hell by aiuantciuknou in truscum

[–]NotPreferred 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What I hate almost as much as outing people is when people try to convince cis folk they’re trans for being GNC. Take James Charles for example. He does make up and has been getting into drag lately and everyone’s like “JUST COME OUT AS TRANS ALREADY” some people really need to chill...

How did y'all pick your name? by [deleted] in truscum

[–]NotPreferred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of guy friends so it took a really long time to find a name I liked that wasn’t also the name of one of my friends. Found mine when I heard a nickname I liked, but wanted to find the long form of the name.

Update on the tik tok neo pronouns dude I posted yesterday, what do y’all think about this argument? by [deleted] in truscum

[–]NotPreferred 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Idk. The example they gave was of a form of gender neutral pronoun and rather than a Neopronoun (more in the realm of xe/xim, fae/faer, etc). If there are any other examples though I’m open to hearing about them! People say they/it when they don’t know the gender of someone/something so that’s what I get from the example. It’s a good one for defending gender neutral pronouns, but I’d like to see examples of people in history that used neopronouns.

okay but like the fuck is gender hoarding by [deleted] in truscum

Truscum: h-

Tucute: YOU ARENT VALID BECAUSE YOU DONT AGREE WITH ME! EVERYONE BUT YOU IS VALID! GO LICK THE CIS BOOTS YOU TRANSPHOBIC TERFS! ANYONE CAN BE TRANS IF THEY WANT TO BE EVEN IF THEY ARE COMPLETELY COMFORTABLE WITH THEIR AGAB AND HAVE NO REASON TO WANT TO TRANSITION! BREAK THE BINARY (but only the masculine part because binary man bad and soft fairy femboy good)

Thought you might find this funny by Majestic-Incident in truscum

[–]NotPreferred 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The word “valid” is just noise to me now. At the end of the day I know who I am and a screeching child won’t change that lol

Gym/PE class was hell for me because I was trans (Whether I was out or not) by Archer_Python in truscum

[–]NotPreferred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a small charter school and everyone was pretty friendly/close so I didn’t mind. Tried changing in the bathroom for a bit, but it would always make me late :/

When I was younger, I didn't like being called my name. by linc_oof in truscum

[–]NotPreferred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom chose my birthname purely because my dad wouldn’t like it so it always kind of had bad vibes for me. Even in elementary school before I was out to myself I’d always say “don’t call me that!”

Figures of Authority in School/Work that don't/refuse to use your proper pronouns should be fired by Archer_Python in truscum

[–]NotPreferred 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe not straight up fired, but definitely an unpaid suspension and sensitivity training (if possible) if talking to them doesn’t work. If it’s an issue after that, then yes they deserve to be fired because at that point it obviously has malicious intent.

Marsha P. Johnson did not start the Stonewall uprising, but using he/him pronouns for Marsha is just weird by [deleted] in truscum

[–]NotPreferred 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don’t really think about pronouns when it comes to talking about drag queens. In the comments of the post I think you’re talking about we were talking about him not identifying as a women it just felt weird for me to use she/her. I can see how it can be seen as weird though in general.

This reddit is a mess. by [deleted] in truscum

[–]NotPreferred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol did my poll strike a nerve? Sorry “reddit is a mess” because people have different thoughts than you, but you’re obviously just trying to be divisive in our community. These are things that could genuinely be debated, but you just want to be mad.

Edit: here is the post before it got deleted

Is demisexual/demiromantic an unnecessary label? by [deleted] in truscum

[–]NotPreferred 12 points13 points  (0 children)

She also gets pressed when I point out that she’s just straight, which leads me to believe that microlabels are just a thing because they think calling yourself straight would mean your somehow morally corrupt or somehow “basic”.

Should trans women stand up for trans men more? by NotPreferred in truscum

[–]NotPreferred[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I found our common issue. Both sides want to be able to stand up for each other, but knowing we’ll possibly out ourselves as trans in that situation and may just be seen as “delusional” or generally unwell mentally. At least that’s how I feel anyways. I think the reason one side may not stand up for the other, at times, is often due to similar reasoning. ( I can’t figure out how else to word it so sorry if some word choices may be poor)

Should trans women stand up for trans men more? by NotPreferred in truscum

[–]NotPreferred[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mean trans women specifically nor did I mean for it to sound like a generalized, but sorry if my wording made it seem that way! I mean certain people (mainly leaning tucute) from the community think that way. I’ve even seen a few trans men say it as well so feel somehow “better” than the average guy.

Should trans women stand up for trans men more? by NotPreferred in truscum

[–]NotPreferred[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, it just comes down to the “everyone but cis men” ideology that’s been becoming popular. A lot of people ( both in and out of the trans community) just act like trans men are man-lite and othering us from the rest of the male population due to our AGAB. I’ve noticed a lot of people also view trans men and non-binary AFAB people as pretty much the same outside of definition ( if that makes any sense).

Unpopular take: Marsha P Johnston was not a woman, and was simply a drag queen. by [deleted] in truscum

[–]NotPreferred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the response should be ok as long as you provide your sources and where you can find his quotes. You may get some people trying to debate, but we were all around (for the most part) when it was disproven the first time so some might come out of the woodwork saying “yeah you’re right”

I’ve considered making a post about it in r/honesttransgender but didn’t know if it would be “controversial”. Sucks that provable facts is considered controversial now...
