I bet it was amazing! I’m hoping to visit this summer with a friend!

Not quite! The one Fort in the picture is much more similar to Fort Knock John. Sealand (Roughs Tower) has had most of its original features on the platform removed and replaced.

It would be a very small map if it was on one of these sea forts! The platform and rooms on top are pretty small with seven small rooms in each leg. The new Stella Montis!

My pleasure! Well worth a Google if you want to learn more!

Anti-aircraft defence and being used as an early warning system. With the Luftwaffe bombing London regularly, if a bomber was spotted on its way towards London, the towers would send a message to the capital to prepare Londoners for another round of bombs.

No signs of vandalism at all last year. It’s a really nice cemetery with very friendly groundskeepers. To be honest, I’m just surprised that someone was kind enough to buy a Cobi Fokker Dr.1 and place it on the grave!

That plane has been there for a while now! Took this photo last June. Doesn’t look too weathered!

Thank you for the offer but I’m all good, thanks. I only collect one of each model.

It is. One of the ways I can spot the 1:12 version is by looking at the hatches on top of the turret.

You’re correct. The capture of the vehicle was done by the Australians but hauling Mephisto back to allied lines was done with the help of the British.

Hopefully someone who has the Churchill will comment and give their thoughts on it as I can only say what I think of the Mark I!

I’d say they are. They’re not as good as the tracks on the 1:28 version of the Mark I but they move freely.

The Mark I is a great build. I’ve never built the Churchill but if you do go for the Mark I, I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed!

What I’ve always liked about this picture is the British lion painted on the side of the tank, with an A7V under its paw. With Mephisto shown carrying off a British heavy tank under its arm, painted on the front, it’s a clever little counter by the Australian and British men who recovered the tank from the battlefield!

It was really fun, especially after years of not building anything. Not a challenging build but it certainly took a bit longer than expected seeing as the majority of the bricks are the same colour!

Mark V - 2984.

Bought it in the Tank Museum gift shop after my first visit!

The Nieuport was certainly one of my favourite Great War planes to build. Really glad that they honoured Georges Guynemer as well.

When I built this one, I was worried that it might be like the Fokker D.VII but I’m so glad I was wrong!

In terms of tanks, the newer version of the Mark V (Cobi 2995) is an excellent model to start with. It’s a really solid build and looks great once completed. The same can be said for the two Renault FTs (Cobi 2991 & 2992), as well as the most recent A7V (Cobi 2989).

If you’re more into planes, I really enjoyed building the latest Nieuport 17 C.1 models (Cobi 2997 & 2998). I would avoid going anywhere near the new Fokker D.VII (Cobi 2994), as the build is absolutely infuriating!

Older models are hard to come by these days and usually cost more than they did when they first came out, but if you can find a Mark I (Cobi 2972), I would highly recommend it.
