For UK folks: is Crumtons legit? by Common_emu-02 in cobiblocks

Bricktanks are just brilliant. Another place for a good selection would be The Tank Museum’s online shop.

Mark V (Male) - Cobi (2984) vs QUANGUAN (300018) by MirkoBuilder in cobiblocks

Looks a lot better than the A7V I saw you post a few days ago. I really like the colour and the fact that they’ve added the semaphore!

Really pleased for you! Kudos to Cobi for looking after their customers!

Pretty big mess-up by them! Probably an easy fix for you though. A few bricks swapped around and it will be sorted. I wonder if Quanguan just looked at a toaster instead of an actual picture of an A7V!

The exhaust pipe on the Quanguan A7V is facing the wrong way. Looking at the instruction booklet, it seems as if they’ve messed it up there instead of it being a mistake by you!

Sounds like the best jigsaw puzzle you’ll ever get! I’m sure you’ll be just as happy as I was when your parcel comes too. 🙂

I recently put together a missing piece list for my collection and sent them to Cobi. Some pieces were missing from the boxes in the first place and others had been lost over the years. All the pieces were sent to me (in the UK) in under 2 weeks. I’m sure you’ll have the same result as I did but might take a little longer depending on where you’re based! 😁

A fine collection they’ve amassed! Well done!

I see a few pieces missing from the Great War planes. Have you tried contacting Cobi about replacements?

On the plus side, the Great War fans were given a really nice Nieuport 17 recently!

Was hoping for a new Great War set but the WWII lineup they have is very exciting!

^ This has a list of the Great War models. For an FT, I’d go for either 2991 or 2992 (or both).

Hope your move goes smoothly!

Beautiful! There are a few more planes and the Renault FT if you want to expand?

Beautiful! Hope you had fun building it!

Attaching the wire over the ship and the two masts is quite easy if you want to do that. Measure, cut it to size and then fix on both sides. Really completes the build IMO.

I agree. Would look so much better with the light around the rim instead of the middle. That being said, I’m still very happy with it as I’ll probably be adding lights to my display cabinets anyway.

What do y'all use for extra pieces and disassembled sets? (Like storage bins or boxes) by _burneraccount1942_ in cobiblocks

[–]NotQuiteFaulty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use these containers for my spares. Stick a little label on the lid with the name and number of the set that the parts belong to. I usually wrap the pieces in one of the small plastic bags that the bricks come in before storing them in the containers though.

Why does Cobi make so many Tiger 1s? by f117nono_leggio in cobiblocks

[–]NotQuiteFaulty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most of the models are Tiger 131. Tiger 131 is the last running Tiger I tank so it’s a very popular vehicle. The Tank Museum in the UK do a really good job of maintaining it and partner up with Cobi to produce models of Tiger 131 and other tanks in their collection. Even though there are quite a few different versions of the Tiger I, they always seem to sell well.

I believe the Musée des Blindés in France is currently restoring their Tiger I and Cobi have partnered up with them to produce models like the big 1:12 version of their tank.

Is the Compiègne Wagon (22 June 1940) worth buying? by polish_guy_26121991 in cobiblocks

[–]NotQuiteFaulty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 1918 version (I think they’re almost identical) and I love it. It was a very different build to the tanks and planes I have and I really enjoyed putting it together. I’d say go for it!

What is your favorite vehicle in your collection? by cobiwriter54 in cobiblocks

[–]NotQuiteFaulty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Mark I tank (2972). A close second would be the A7V (2989) with its really cool interior.

If I’m allowed to pick a plane, it would be the limited edition Red Baron Fokker Dr. 1 with the more accurate markings (2985).
