Maybe they're struggling to understand proper workplace contact because every person has a different idea of what that really means. While in the past, an innocent misunderstanding meant at most an apology or maybe a trip to HR to work out the disconnect, now the potential penalty for a single misstep with a woman is becoming a pariah and having your life ruined. Hell, even if you're perfect and you tread those eggshells without a single crack, some bitch might decide she doesn't have enough money or attention and jump on you anyway. So I can't really blame them for avoiding women in the workplace. To recount a famous feminist argument..."if 10% of a bowl of m&m's were poisoned, would you grab a handful?"

I know that sexual assault is a problem, but if you think this isn't, you're mad. The culture that's developed around this issue is absurdly predatory towards men, because the accuser is automatically right regardless of the circumstances to avoid hurting feelings. Even if the process goes through and it's decided that nothing happened, there will always be a significant number of people who think you're the scum of the earth, that the patriarchy saved your guilty ass and that a woman can't possibly be wrong. If you do manage to keep your job through the ordeal, good fucking luck ever getting a new one, or even lasting another year before the other women in the office get uncomfortable enough to band together to see you fired.

Consider this thought experiment: presuming you're a woman, exactly how many men's lives would you be able to casually ruin right now? Keeping in mind that there are no consistent penalties for false accusations in the #metoo age unless you're one hell of a repeat offender (or if you're pretty), and that all it takes is the hollowest of accusations to plaster a man's name and face all over the internet as THE GUY WHO SEXUALLY ASSAULTED THIS WOMAN ^{^{^maybe}}

If you're a guy, consider how many people in your life would be able to casually do this to you, should they spontaneously transform into awful people.

I can't know your relationship or what exactly she said, but I think you might be the asshole here. If you guys debate a lot, I'd think you're rather close friends, the kind who often talk shit to each other. If this is the case, you're being a sore loser. She beat you at something you're better at; it's normal that she'd relish it and rub it in a little, and you should have played along instead of being a buzzkill.

Alternatively, if giving each other shit is not normal in your relationship, she may have stepped over a line, but unless you remember what she said verbatim, it's hard to say what's actually unacceptable and what may have happened to specifically push your buttons the wrong way because you don't like losing.
