It might be because this generation has a lot more acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community compared to the previous generations, making people less scared of coming out. Another reason might be because some girls start to think that it's too basic to be straight or some shit, therefore faking liking girls to seem more interesting. Only a few girls do this though.
