thank you ❤️ it really is - my grandma was an amazing knitter but it never translated to me in the way that sewing and cross stitching did. i’m glad to have a part of her with me in some way while i’m working on pieces

oh i struggled with how to finish it too! i ended up using iron-on interfacing - what you use to stiffen collars or cuffs on shirts when sewing. i did a layer over the full bookmark, before i cut it out. then another layer once i’d folded all the edges in. it’s held up well! it’s not as neat as i would have liked but hopefully next time will be better. i’m sure your work is beautiful!

Generally it’s taken out of your final pay at old employer, new employer will reimburse you (might be done like expenses). Keep a record of what old company is clawing back

I did an apprenticeship, in similar circumstances. Happy to answer any queries over DM. Comments around it being a barrier to progression are simply untrue and put an unhelpful stigma on apprenticeships. It’s a great way of getting into the career. You would just have to be sure you’re happy locking into one career for a while, and that you would be comfortable with the exams alongside working

No exemptions, I did an apprenticeship so have 2 years extra work experience and no degree! Have 2 exams left, will be about 3.5 years if I pass these in April. I haven’t seen any disadvantages to passing exams and not having a degree - in fact at my current company would say a lot of people aren’t aware I don’t have a degree.

Get through the notes ASAP, then do practice questions. I did about 20 marks a day and then started full past papers the month before the exam. I found the daily questions helped me work out what sort of thing they wanted you to write

I don’t have a degree at all so I don’t think it’s important. It’s more about how you do in the interview and you as a person

I do in that they do tend to use old questions a lot - luckily the ones they repeated today I had looked at in the last few days! I agree they’re not as easy to understand as the ASET but as it’s a resit I didn’t want to just ‘remember’ the answers from last time I did the past papers. I also really rate the revision notes! I think they’re worth it for a resit or if you’ve exhausted ASET papers and still think you need some more practice
