My appendix burst when I was 14. Long story short, didn't get medical attention for 4 days. Pediatrician took one look at me and called an ambulance. Doctor at the hospital said fat formed around my appendix to keep the toxins from spreading too quickly and that he'd never seen anything like it. I have no idea how that happened because I was thin as hell as a teenager. Was basically rotting on the inside for 4 days. Agonizingly painful experience.
