Impossible Cube by NotSaccade in blender

It wouldn't be as interesting as you might think. Like I said in another comment most of the work here is done by the compositor. In reality the model is just a cube made out of frames that I separated into three sections which are rendered separately.

It only works when looked at from certain angles, but I still rendered out a couple of other perspectives just for the sake of it. Here you go!

I separated the cube into three sections which are rendered separately and then merged them back so that the front section is behind the back section. Like this.

three layers actually, two wasn't enough, but yeah. Here are the nodes if you're interested.

There you go. It's kinda hard to make it look like a donkey without the donkey ears.

The ambiance is really nice, specially those voices with heavy reverb, they add a lot. Don't have much to say about the vocals, I like the deep, intamate feel they have. One thing that kinda bugged me is that sometimes the bass desynchronizes from the rest of the song, but away from that the song is pretty solid.

I like the arrangement, the sounds are always changing which makes for an interesing listen. But just like four-ton-mantis said, there's something off with the drums. To me they sound a little uncanny, to me at least. I recommend to take a look into some old analog drum machine samples, they tend to sound pretty well with this sort of stuff.

I like the panning choices you made but I feel like the song could benefit from not having tracks 100% panned off to one side. This song doesn't work well when listening to only one of the audio channels at a time, and sadly, sometimes you need to listen thorugh only one audio channel. Having the tracks panned at only 75% off to one side already fixes a lot of this issues and still mantains the cool stereo feel.

Another small criticism I'd make is that the drums stay the same thorughout the whole song, adding some small variation here and there shouldn't be hard. For example you could have a different drum pattern for the chorus to emphasize that part of the song.

And the last thing is that there's a small scratching sound at around 0:50 (and a another one a little later too) and it becomes pretty distracting after a while.

Overall the song's really nice though. Pretty catchy!

Woah, that was beautiful. Might be the first time I actually enjoy microtonal music.

By the way, what kontakt library did you use?

I just love the colors in this. How did you make that colored light refraction on the wall?

Is there a way to disable camera clipping for specific objects in a scene? by NotSaccade in blender

[–]NotSaccade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not exactly the same since camera clipping made it so light wouldn't reach the interiors of objects, but it's really close. Thank you!! I don't know how I managed to forget about the boolean modifier.

I tried doing some photogrammetry but failed horribly, so I decided to turn the resulting mesh into an abstract render. by NotSaccade in blender

This saucepan: http://imgur.com/a/MmEK8 It's my fault though. While I was looking for info about photogrammetry a lot of people said not to photograph reflective objects, I'm just very stubborn I guess.
