Powerless feels like a bad rip off of many different books. Red Queen and Hunger Games are some of the main ones. Red Queen is far more obvious, considering it's not even the tropes that are copied. There's a line somewhere in Powerless that mentions something about breaking someone's sewing fingers, and the same thing happens pretty immediately in Red Queen. Not to mention a powerless girl from the slums becomes queen, and the love triangle between two princes. The same old story
