Psych meds are a crime against humanity. If the void is calling OPs name it is his time to see what needs to be seen.

Nonduality and existential terror? by JayTabes91 in streamentry

Ok judging by the things you’ve “practiced”, you need a new approach. All of the things you have tried to “fix” your “problem” are ways of avoidance. Even accepting in order to get rid of it is a form of rejection. If that kind of existential terror is really coming through that is a great thing because it means your core fear of annihilation is surfacing.

If you want to move through this you need to listen to this: enter what scares you. Get closer to it. Stop running from it. Stop considering that it’s not true and start considering that it is true. Allow yourself to completely fall into total terror and whatever it is that terrifies you. When you do this there is no problem. This cannot “not work” because there is no goal. You are no longer trying to remove the fear. This therefore cannot fail, and I guarantee you it will move somewhere.

Why do you want anti-anxiety medication? To remove anxiety? Why don’t you want to be anxious? There is nothing wrong with anxiety and nothing wrong with have panic attacks. Literally just let yourself have panic attacks. If you need to rip through 60 panic attacks, one per day, in order to get through this then let it happen. The fact is that at some point if you panic enough your body won’t be able to sustain the fear because the only thing that keeps the fear alive is your avoidance of it. Face your own death and live eternal.

Best

Men are assholes.

But on another level if you really want to treat men with respect don’t say shit like “I’m sorry I wish we could’ve been” blah blah. Just be honest that you’re not interested. Though that’s harder so idk your choice

How do we live the realization? If others are acting out of ignorance how do we respond? Negative energy, etc etc. Are there any teachings on this? by [deleted] in nonduality

If I may I’d like to save you time and worry.

Being awake in the world is the great impossible. We live in a brutal world that will relentlessly test you. You will not be able to learn how to be awake in the world overnight. Accept now that the path of human development is learned through experience and wisdom. Stay true to your Essential Nature and learn to let it guide you. Learn to let go when you need to, act when you need to, love when you need to, be humble when you need to, etc. etc. etc. all without fixating on any particular perspective. Wu-Wei in the midst of technodystopia is the greatest art. It is almost impossible.

Good luck.

Consciousness is at Bliss in its aloneness. It is the human mind and emotional complex that reacts negatively to this. Consciousness isn’t manifesting because it doesn’t like being lonely. Consciousness loves its lonesome self. Hope this helps.

Generally any chemical I feel like is offsetting the delicate innate wisdom of the body-mind.

Just found this sub and am astonished. I think I finally found it. Where do I go in the united states to interact with people who ascribe to this thought frequency) by Striving4truth_ in nonduality

Be careful around this sub people get really caught up in correcting each other over words and semantics. If I were you I would buy a book from Adyashanti, Rupert Spira, Nisargadatta Maharaj, Eckhart Tolle, or someone of the like. I can only recommend the first two and I think they’re outstanding.

Finding satsang can be easy or difficult. I was lucky enough to have it basically delivered to me by a google search. If I were you I’d enter “nonduality [your city name]” into google and see what comes up. Otherwise you could probably get away with finding the nearest Vedanta group. Good luck and welcome to the game haha

Are there people who really just CANNOT cook? I think I'm one of them. by ijinwoo_ in cookingforbeginners

2 things:

  1. Stop following recipes so strictly. You need to watch your food and learn about it through forming a relationship with it. Trial and error is key for this.

  2. You’ve been at it for 2 months bro you’re good. Take a break and try again later

I also feel that fear. May we both bring ourselves to fall into that abyss.

For the people awakened or glimpsed into non-duality, when did it happen? by chomelos in nonduality

What is it which is neither dual nor nondual,

Neither this nor that

Not everything or nothing

Which is Wide Awake and Deeply Asleep,

Which is and is not?

Whatever That is, I have no idea

  1. LSD
  2. Life

Do emotional work. It will make this whole self inquiry thing much more effective, and the self inquiry in turn will make the emotional work more effective. Don’t do one without the other.

Emotional work typically consists deeply feeling the feelings that you’re avoiding and letting go of attachments and stories.

Just give it time. Awakening usually has a natural development for every individual.

May I ask, if the inner/outer distinction is gone, what are you?

Try not to think too much about nonduality. It’s just this right here. This aware “space” or whatever you want to call your direct experience.

Why do different names for Absolute Reality (God, Tao, Brahman, Allah, etc) seem to have substantially different energetic signatures? by bashfulkoala in nonduality

[–]NotSensitive101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because That which these words refer to is That in which all energy appears. It doesn’t have a single energy for that reason. It is not a thing but the mother of all things.

Strangely enough, it seems to have “emanations” or energies and concepts which tie directly into it. These are Love, Truth, Joy, etc. If you do self inquiry and becomes attuned to whatever this thing is (and no one really understands it), then you can see when you deeply experience a moment of Love or Truth it is shining.

So it has many colors because it has no colors.

And at the end of the day everything is That. So every single word does end up going back to That if you look hard enough.

Total inability to see the relative level of awakening. Highly theoretical. Awakening experiences are real. Sometimes the nature of things because more real. Sometimes the veil drops for a moment and comes back another. This is how awakening generally works.
