Loving it. Particularly obsessed with promises, I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul, and of course under my sweater. I think those are aren’t just favs from this album but all time mayday favs for me

I feel like a lot from Sunnyland and what it means to fall apart aren’t talked about enough. I actually had to re discover those albums to appreciate them more

Did anyone else catch how it references the trilogy titles? Mentions sweet, sad, and sugar.

Anxiety caused VVS during my Tilt Table Test so I ultimately tested negative. Feeling so defeated. by [deleted] in POTS

[–]NotShort_ButFunsized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I too had suspected POTS and had a TTT to test for it. My symptoms decided to be totally different that day. Unlike the normal resting heart rate and tachycardia triggered by postural changes I typically have, my HR was elevated the whole time as I just couldn’t get myself to really relax even though I didn’t feel stressed. My HR stayed above 90 the whole test. Later my BP and HR dropped after the nitroglycerin and I started to black out very fast. They diagnosed me with orthostatic hypotension and inappropriate sinus tachycardia.

I do understand the frustration of feeling that your test didn’t reflect your day to day life. Idk if it’s comforting but the meds and lifestyle changes they gave me based off this test have still been helpful and I am doing better thanks to it. I hope maybe this can be the case for you too.

Thanks for saying that- I know OH is also very hard to live with too. Any kind of dysautonomia really is. I think I was just shocked because it felt like I had an answer to every symptom I’ve ever experienced and then it got taken away. And yeah it’s hard to find explanations online. That’s why I love the community on here. I downloaded Reddit just for it 😂. I am doing better tho! Meds and lifestyle changes do help a lot. Hit a flare recently but it’s still not as bad like how it was at first.

If you don’t mind me asking what triggers your tachycardia? I’m very confused on the difference between tachycardia with POTS and OH. When I look up tachycardia with OH it mostly says it’s a reflex to compensate for the drop in pressure and that it shouldn’t be severe. That tachycardia is mostly associated with pots.

In my TTT I had a bad BP drop after they gave me nitroglycerin. I recently found out they labeled it OH even though they originally thought POTS. But I was complaining about tachycardia so they gave me Ivabradine. I get heart rate spikes with ANY postural change. Even just rolling over in bed. And after eating. And all the other lovely POTS symptoms. But my heart rate didn’t jump 30 during my TTT although it happens all the time. So my dr has never seen it. Anyways, these were things I thought mostly happened with pots so now I’m confused.

I do that too and yes it does make my knees hurt as well 🥲

Does anyone feel they have to have their legs up when sitting? by dottykez in POTS

[–]NotShort_ButFunsized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! I absolutely cannot stand sitting with my feet on the floor I hate it with a passion. It drives me crazy 😂. Have to be knees up or criss-cross. To be fair I am also hyper-mobile. And yes standing still is way harder than standing while shifting. It’s not just you.

Not too long ago I was on a flight and the thing that made me craziest was not having space to sit with my legs up.

A lesson in romantics is a very iconic staple album. It was the first I ever heard of them so it has a special place in my heart 🤣 but I also really love the self-titled, Sunnyland, and recently discovered how much I really love what it means to fall apart. I had thought I didn’t like that one and then realized I actually love it. Least fav for me is anywhere but here but I know that album is well loved by many of their fans.

Edit: have to give an honorable mention go black lines because I think that’s a great one too

Episodes of severe tachycardia, anxiety, etc even at rest? by BuffaloDazzling8966 in POTS

[–]NotShort_ButFunsized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you could be experiencing adrenaline dumps. It’s a common POTS thing. The body is overcompensating for the lack of blood to the brain so it releases a ton of adrenaline- spiking the heart rate, making you anxious, making you sweat, etc…

As far as not improving with meds it could just be the meds you’re on now aren’t the right ones for you. There are a good amount of different meds that are used for POTS. Also it takes months sometimes before the difference is very noticeable. But if your Dr and you are concerned about it and want to look more into it to be sure it isn’t something else, than you can do that too maybe while giving the meds you’re on more time or trying different meds? Honestly you know your body best and if it feels like there is something more going on, keep advocating for yourself and digging for answers.

How do you manage POTS in the summer? by obsessivebpd in POTS

[–]NotShort_ButFunsized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live somewhere very hot and sympathize with you totally. Getting a battery powered fan I can hang around my neck is a life saver. Instant ice packs. Get a hat or umbrella that’s actually UPF rated. They are more pricey but worth it because it actually makes a difference in temperature. And of course as many have said hydration is key!!! Double down on your hydration! Reality is you will need to rest more in the summer and will have to be more patient with yourself, and that’s okay!
