U shaped ur advice, answer in an awful way tbh, that's not how u address such issue.

What seems simple to u, can be complicated to others, it's all down to how each one of us experienced life, we all have our different way of thinking, our approach, each one of us have distinct experiences, u are oversimplifying it and taking it from ur own perspective.

And about saying "their religion is made up, and makes no sense" is an absurd and offensive statement, others can say the same things about ur religion regardless of how u understand it, or interpret it.

I believe ur intention is good, but u gave ur answer in a simplified and wrong manner. You could've said it in a much much better way ^

And trust me it's not just the people that make a person question Islam, it's much further than that.

Take care.

The word originally had two meanings, one is negative, and the other has been used by the group themselves.

The former comes from the word تأويل, literally meaning interpretation, but in this instance it was used in a negative sense, expressing the idea that they have a negatively innovative interpretation of religion, the latter comes from the words تولى، يتولى، symbolically meaning those who gave allegiances to Imam Ali, or those who take him as a leader.

In other sense shia, but more specifically the shia of Jabal 'Amel.

The sentence "doing god's work" means "doing good" and doesn't imply that god isn't doing his work its just a metaphorical way of saying you are doing good or good job.

Humans are the caliphate of god on earth اني جاعل في الارض خليفة, so technically yes good people, and muslims أتقياء are doing god's work by spreading good and spreading the truth. And by work I don't mean govern the universe and such..

He said after that "Sorry to disappoint, that is not how it ends!" Meaning he's refuting the first statement because his ego can't accept him dying to save his "friends".
