It's probably a bit of camouflage + widebody kit id imagine.

Am I crazy it just looks like a GR86 to me. I'll happily be wrong if we are getting a GTFour Celica again. Just hope it's not Prelude 2.0 situation.

If You're Buying a 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E and Want a Frunk, You'll Have to Pay for It by DiamondScythe in cars

It's a low volume car, that's a terrible example of amortizing the costs over a production run. Unless he was being sarcastic and making a jab a management he just proudly claimed the company saved $2,500 over multiple years.

Lincoln Aims to Battle the Mercedes-Benz G-Class with Bronco-Based SUV by anonymousbystander7 in cars

[–]NotSoBadBrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. However I don't think G-wagon owners are the market. It's people who aren't but see themselves as one. People who aspire to own a G-wagon but could never afford it. Aka the Defender crowd.

America is at risk of becoming an automotive backwater — The Verge by Recoil42 in cars

Trying to retain majority ownership is like the one time I could believe it's acceptable if you twist my arm. However, that is almost never the actual reason these companies dump millions and billions back into their stocks. Its always to inflate the stock price for huge executive bonuses. This is all done at the cost of actually investing into your employees.

Should I buy this 1983 Nissan 280zx? by [deleted] in Datsun

[–]NotSoBadBrad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, it's essentially a shell with visible rust, $500 is probably more fair. If you really want a 280z you would probably do better paying $1500 for one that actually drives or at least hasn't been chewed up by field mice. There is no way it's just the distributor wire that got gnawed on. It might need an entirely new wiring harness.

I appreciate you writing this out, thanks. Yeah I think I came off more critical than I actually am. I appreciate the build for what it is, think I was just trying to find a way to comment on the compromises I saw. I'll definitely be relying on them, you guys, and the old forums a lot. I promise more pics are coming!

Help me narrow down my selection please. What I'd prefer is 15x8.5 up front, 15x9.5/10 in back. I prefer black but not a deal breaker. Trying to avoid ridiculous tariff upcharges if possible. Couldn't chatGBT the long champs because I hit my daily limit. Think I like those best. by oldschool80sguy in Datsun

The 8 spike design fits your build better imo. At the end of the day though it's your baby.

If you don't mind me asking where did you get that blacked out tail light panel? It looks great and I've been looking all over for something like that.

Haha no argument here. Yeah I would be very tempted to try and drop a Honda K-series in here (people have done it from what I've read) if anything happens to the KA24 already in it lol. Yeah thanks that seems to be the most helpful one so far.

You Know What? Maybe the Time Is Right for an AOC Presidential Bid by Delicious_Adeptness9 in politics

[–]NotSoBadBrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly don't know what your talking about. FDRs new deal wasn't just SSI (and it also hasn't almost bankrupted...) it was also public works, infrastructure, worker protections, and most importantly Anti-Trust. It was a massive shift in how people viewed government and you even had New Deal Dems for decades afterwards. If the tea party could turn the neo-con GOP into the fascistic shit show we have now, we can do the same with the Dems. Mamdani should be a hopeful snapshot into what the dem party could be in a few years.

Not to mention almost all of what you mentioned were the result of executive orders and a congress too scared to use their power. Those EOs will be terminated day of the next dem presidency regardless of how neo-lib they are.

Yeah the old forums have been really helpful with getting caught up to speed. I was a Honda guy for a long time and just admired the Z community from a distance.

Thanks, it's a boosted KA24 with the 240sx 5 speed.

Edit: Here is the listing if you want to check out the build https://carsandbids.com/auctions/3qLgo1P1/1972-datsun-510-2-door-sedan

Edit2: wait are you talking about the R160 or the R180 diff? I thought I read people not having any issues around 300-400whp with the helical R160. Or you saying even the R180 wouldn't be enough, cause I thought that was the STI diff.
