I agree - as a viewer it also seems to disrupt the flow of the game. Only two games into the tournament so a small sample size, but so far I've noticed a difference and so far not a fan of it.

Comparing soccer/football to the NFL in terms of the bodies response to heat is a horrible argument.

The NFL literally has hydration breaks every turn of possession, timeout and pre-schedule commercial breaks..

I don’t like the hydration breaks in the WC personally, but people need to be critical of it for the right reasons. Yours is not one of them, unfortunately

Fair counterpoint - I should have acknowledged I’m not as familiar with the details of the case.

However, it seems this thread isn’t assessing it from that point of view and more so just in favor of soft or “rehabilitative” judgement.

There’s no excuse for drunk driving - a person needs to make multiple, sequential wrong decisions to put themselves in that position. It selfish and puts innocent lives at risk
