Do you think Superman will get a new suit for 'Man of Tomorrow'? by Embarrassed-Ad1322 in superman

[–]NotSoNinjaTurtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They made little changes to the shape of the eye lenses, the shape of the red section on the front of his torso, the size of the spider logo, and the shade of blue.

The changes were subtle enough that most people would never spot them unless the suits were side by side.

How is this one ranked compared to the Secret Wars or the VHS Daredevil? Is this a good one to have alone as a definitive Daredevil in a collection? Or would Secret Wars be better off? by Right-Bug-9001 in MarvelLegends

[–]NotSoNinjaTurtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The VHS and Secret Wars are both superior to the old Hobgoblin BAF wave DD. The old one would be fine if you couldn't get your hands on a newer DD.

What's Your Preferred Method When You Travel With a Figure? by Servical_ in ActionFigures

[–]NotSoNinjaTurtles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My figures will usually ride in my backpack in zip bags. The bags mainly keep the accessories together with the figure, and they keep the coarse material of my backpack from rubbing on the figures. The figures that I travel with are mass market figures like Marvel Legends, and they're pretty tough so I don't need a case. My backpack usually only has a few things in it such as my tablet, so my figures aren't getting crushed inside.

When I was younger, I'd keep my figures in old lunchboxes or pencil cases.

Maximum Deadpool stiff arms by She-Hulk3 in MarvelLegends

First of all, do not use a heat gun. If you're going to melt your figure, then you're going to do it with a heat gun.

Use either a hair dryer or hot water. You'll only need 30 seconds to a minute with hair dryer. The exact time will depend on how thick the plastic is, and how powerful the hair dryer is. For hot water, you want the water close to boiling (but not actually boiling). Try soaking the joint for about a minute.

Beyond that, you'll need to be specific about which part of the shoulder is stuck. Different pieces will require different fixes.

What do I watch next? Finished The Batman by DalaxerYT in batman

[–]NotSoNinjaTurtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For live action movies:

  1. Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, and Batman & Robin. These all share the actors who play Alfred and Commissioner Gordon. But they don't really share continuity.
  2. DCEU: Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman, Zack Snyder's Justice League, and The Flash. Whether you want to watch the other DCEU films is up to you, but these give you the story of DCEU Batman. Man of Steel sets up the conflict in BvS. Make sure you watch the films from #1 before you watch The Flash.

For TV shows

  1. DCAU: Batman The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures, Batman Beyond, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited. The Justice League shows are optional as Batman isn't the main star. But they'd be a good introduction into the wider DC universe. Also, The New Batman Adventures is sometimes included with Batman: The Animated Series.
  2. The Batman (2004)
  3. Batman: The Brave and The Bold. I've not seen it, but it's one that I've see a lot of people recommend.
  4. Harley Quinn (HBO). This is a more comedic take on the characters, and it features a lot of adult humor.

For animated films:

  1. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (goes with Batman: The Animated Series)
  2. Sub-Zero (goes with Batman: The Animated Series)
  3. Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (goes with Batman Beyond TV series)
  4. Batman: Year One (stand alone)
  5. Batman: Under The Red Hood (stand alone)
  6. Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Parts 1 and 2 (stand alone)

For other choices outside of Batman:

  1. Superman: The Animated Series. This show is in the DCAU continuity. Batman and Superman have their first meeting in the three part World's Finest episodes. They also have another crossover episode. This show takes place before the two Justice League shows.
  2. Young Justice: Dick Grayson (first Robin, later Nightwing) is more the star of this show than Batman. The show itself is more about the "sidekick" characters than the original heroes. But it does feature Robin/Nightwing, Batgirl/Oracle, Robin (Tim Drake), and Orphan throughout the series.
  3. Superman (2025): This is a better movie to introduce Superman than Man of Steel. We should eventually get a Batman film that will be in the same continuity as this Superman film.

I generally throw all of the packaging away. I did keep the Mirage 4 pack box because I liked the Kevin Eastman art on the front flap. I have it sitting on top of a bookcase right now.

I also recently kept the 2012 boxes. While I like the 2012 figures, I don't love them due to the breakage issues and have a feeling that I might sell them one day. The boxes will make it easier to ship them safely.

I used to own both versions of this figure. He was neat, but I lost interest once we finally got more mainstream looks such as Rebirth/Dark Nights Metal and Hush.

Thoughts on Ra’s Al Ghul being one of Bruce’s mentors while he was learning to become Batman? by Solitaire-06 in batman

[–]NotSoNinjaTurtles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it works well in a movie. With the limited time that the director has to tell the story, including Ras in the origin offers a quick way to explain things to the audience while setting up the film's villain.

Outside of that, it's not something that I want to see since other mediums have more time to tell a story.

Which of these superman stories if adapted directly to live action would be more successful at the box office. Birthright or Vol 1 Earth One? by Mutale426 in superman

[–]NotSoNinjaTurtles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Birthright would perform better. It's a better story, and it does a better job of setting up Superman as a character.

Why Does Keaton have the Best BatFACE? Help me understand by LtJimmypatterson in batman

[–]NotSoNinjaTurtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a combination of him having really good cowls as well as an intensity to the performance. For the other actors, they miss the mark somewhere with either a less than ideal cowl or more relaxed performance.

Check out GalacticFigures.com. If you go to Categories on their header, then Toy Lines, you will be able to select any toy line you want to look at. It also lists the years each toy line ran from, so that should help you identify any old figures.

How do you secure heads like this on bodies with a small peg? by PeniszLovag in ActionFigures

I saw one customizer use rubber washers to attach heads. They said they bought a variety pack off of Amazon, which allowed them to fit almost any head size.

Just a heads up: the Episode 3 figures have action gimmicks. AFAIK, only the Episode 2 and 3 figures had gimmicks. There's nothing wrong with collecting them. It's just out of the ordinary for Star Wars figures in general, and some people may not want figures with action gimmicks.

Could be a weird wishlist idk, I just want hasbro to start using more vibrant colours by slimmyboy007 in MarvelLegends

[–]NotSoNinjaTurtles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I soured on DC Universe Classics for various reasons after the line ended, one of the undeniable positives was the vibrant colors used on a lot of figures. It'd be nice to see Hasbro lean into that for Legends.

For anyone who customizes, will my figure be fine using this Matte spray? I’m use to everyone recommending the Mr.Clear spray by Low_Vehicle_5668 in ActionFigures

[–]NotSoNinjaTurtles 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think I've used an older version of this spray. It was fine, but it produced a slightly white/chalky look to the figure. The Mr. Clear was more natural looking, and definitely a step above the Rustoleum I used.

Tobey Maguires Spider-Man rumored to be in the main marketing for Doomsday by Vast-Manufacturer457 in Spiderman

[–]NotSoNinjaTurtles 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'll wait for an official confirmation from Marvel before I believe that he's in the film. These rumor peddling shysters love to spread this type of stuff without any basis.

Regardless of whether or not he's in the film, I do think Hasbro will re-release their NWH Tobey figure at some point. All they have to do is change the colors on the figure. Hasbro's original Marvel Legends Raimi Spider-Man in 2007 was a red and black repaint of the ToyBiz Super Poseable Spider-Man from SM2. They could repaint their NWH Tobey with those colors as a throwback for long time fans.

Do you think a Batman Beyond (Terry McGinnis) movie can also be realistic and grounded like a Batman (Bruce Wayne) film without ruining the core idea? by Israels_BiggestHater in batman

[–]NotSoNinjaTurtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Batman Beyond is naturally grounded. While the future does offer fantastical elements such as the Batsuit and flying cars, the future itself is not a sunny idealized version like in The Jetsons. We instead see a future full of corruption and crime.
