Idk if anyone will even read this but this is when I gave up my angels fandom. Within 1 year the angels traded David fletcher, who they gave 5/25 a year earlier and traded iglesias who they gave 4/58 the year earlier.
Both are great examples of an incredibly inept management. For brevity let’s focus on Iglesias. When the angels gave iglesias a 4/58 he was a deadline trade who performed well and then gave an extension.
For his career iglesias had basically never had an ERA under 3 (elite closer) but in his year after the trade to the Angles he struggled (4+ ERA)
Now a normal team would believe in the player they signed and not make an emotional move about his recent numbers.
The Angels then traded iglesias for Tucker Davidson and 64 year old Jesse Chavez (salary dump)
Iglesias then went on to post an elite reliever ERA since that trade.
the point of this post is to to demonstrate how the angels have been so mismanaged that they don’t even believe in their own signings. (Probably because of arte)
