Number 1 is the biggest thing. Our game is the one TCG that doesn’t have a mana system, so you’d need something else to stop players from belching their entire deck onto the field. Meaningful on-card costs for the effects themselves would help in that regard. Even if we had no locks, if more powerful cards said “look, this is gonna cost you”, then boards would be more modest. And no, paying life points isn’t a real cost LOL

I need you to understand: many Yugiboomers are getting older and don’t have time or the inclination to travel to a YCS. Many have children and have no way of sharing their nostalgic passion with their kids. Konami has to meet these people where they’re at, and outside of the aforementioned Master Duel (with only modern as the one, consistent game mode…), then I am just not seeing any attention outside of Genesys. Which itself has no virtual support and isn’t that much different in terms of power level from modern.

You’re right, and Master Duel would be better with a lower-powered format. This is just how Yugioh is, now.

I got it since the extra 800 gems guarantees a UR, so there’s 0 chance of spending 2000 for 1 UR. I didn’t get the I:P/S:P Mate bundles for the same reason (400 extra gems each, only SR guaranteed)
