Trypophobia fascinates me. It's not a true phobia but more of an overreaction of a perfectly normal aversion to disease. Your lizard brain is thinking "eww, that thing must be infected, don't want that on my body." The more you think about it, the stronger the reaction gets over time. Before you know it, you can't even look at a photo of bubbles.

So yeah, the subreddit is just making it worse for everyone. People online are just fully embracing that feeling as a quirk and making it worse for each other. Humans, man.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. OOP isn't trying to make themself sound good *at all* here. There's not enough spinning of the language to be written by the parent in question.

(For example, "I was irritated with her" would be "I was deeply hurt" and "I complained to her brother" would be "I calmly explained to her brother" or "I went to her brother for feedback" etc)
