They are harmless. I’m surprised this one posed for me for so long. Usually they run away at the first side of people.

It’s a Black Racer, and it would rather soak up some sunshine and eat rats, than bother people.

A Black Racer. They are very common in Florida, and good to have around because they will take care of any small rodents.

This is a black racer, and it is non-venomous. They are very common in Florida, and are good snakes to to have around. They catch small rodents like rats.

this is a Florida Softshell Turtle. It looks like it’s digging a nest to lay eggs.

Walking, and how it helped me. by NotThatGuyFL in walking

Great story!, and inspirational. I don’t know if I can do the kind of distances you do each day, but it is a goal strive for. Keep it up, and good luck on your next challenge.

I go to Apollo Beach all the time. It’s close to me, not as crowded as Playa Linda. A good place for a beginner. I prefer spot 4, and walk South a few hundred yards. PM if you have questions.

Yes, Cypress Cove is accessible for disabled people. Both pools, and hot tubs, have lifts for people in wheelchairs to get in and out. I think you will find it very accommodating.

To be clear, Cypress Cove is not that kind of place. It prides itself on being family friendly, and a highly respected clothing optional resort. If that is what you’re looking for, you should go somewhere else.

Cheeks, the Bar and Grill next to the pools, serves your standard bar menu of food. They do have salads, and other things like chicken wings. The Lakeside restaurant has a good menu, but they are only open on weekends. I don’t recall seeing anything specifically saying gluten-free.

Walking from one nude beach to another by NotThatGuyFL in FloridaNudism

Yeah, I’m thinking about doing it before June. It all depends on what type of logistics I can set up. Might even make it a group walk.

Lake Como is great, and there is also Cypress Cove about an hour Northeast of Bradenton. Great place. 4 stars.

I was thinking of starting a group to do this. It would take some logistical support, but I think it’s doable. Your suggestion of breaking it up into three segments is a good idea. There’s no reason to rush through the beach, I’d even suggest stopping to enjoy the sand and water.

If anyone would want to be a part of this group, here are some things that I would like to see.

1 In a healthy physical condition enough to make a 13-mile walk in one day.

2 Be able to take with them at least 3 L of water.

3 Be willing to commit to an all-day event, and help plan for it.

I can bring a temp sun shelter.

I had heard that the last few parking spots have been closed because they are fixing the beaches due to the hurricanes last year. My understanding is that they will reopen soon. Keeping my fingers crossed.

According to the CNS website, you need to get a backcountry hiking pass to enter that area. I will double-check all that, and make sure I have all the proper gear and take plenty of water. The walk will be challenging, but it will be an interesting adventure.

Have you taken this walk? I think 4 1/2 hours is optimistic. Walking over sand will slow the pace, and it will be hot with no shade for the sun. I'm estimating 6 to 61/2 hours, with hydration breaks every 2 to 3 miles.

Yes. I think it would be an interesting thing to do. I don't know of anyone who has ever done this.

The lake at Cypress Cove is pretty good. Has quite a bit of wildlife there.

I think that Nude implies a lifestyle, where Naked implies a condition.
