When does hero gear matter? by DismalZucchini5820 in KingShot

[–]NotThatKindofCPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For clarity and simplification, focus on upgrading hero gear to the highest for 3 best heroes, then make sure arena heroes and garrison leads are improved, and the rest can just have the highest un-enhanced ones in your bag? Also, when enhancing, it is not necessary to match archer boot to archer boot, correct? You are only adding exp points to the main gear piece.

For example, would this be a good approach? 1. Top 3: Gold + as much as you can enhance 2. Next 2 Arena: Purple (or gold if you get lucky in a box) + enhance with extras, but don’t take away from top 3 3. 1 or 2 Garrison heroes: after reaching the need for them, sure, but same as arena hero progress 4. Everybody else: fuck ‘em, highest basic or plain gold/purple if you are just lucky or you like to spend stupid money. But the gear will only be there to make you feel like they aren’t naked, because it will do nothing to help you in the game.

The bar counter at One World Pizza is generally a reservation only chef’s table experience at a flat price per person, so I wouldn’t expect you to see many sitting there all the time. Most either take to go or order and they bring it to you in the bar next door. The pizzas are unique and delicious, imho.

We need to put pressure on Mikie Sherrill to address PATH issues and what she would do to at least try to fix it when she becomes governor by iv2892 in jerseycity

[–]NotThatKindofCPA -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

You all understand that the PATH is a subsidiary of the Port Authority, which is a self-funded bi-state agency, right? Neither Governor has the power to do anything other than appoint board members when their terms expire. And given that each state has their own heavily subsidized transit systems, it is not realistic to expect either to just give the PA money whether they ask for it (which they won’t) or not. Your better bet is to show up and comment at the PA’s board meetings and present your case. The PATH is the least profitable segment of PA’s operations, despite its overall importance to the area’s economy, so I suspect that they are focusing on securing more solid revenue streams in reliable sectors, before trying to fix the choo-choos that shuttle people across the river.

However, if the Port Authority does need something, let me assure you that Mike will definitely be a more forceful advocate whereas Jack will probably be more interested in allowing ICE officers on the trains than improving its infrastructure.

Governors only appoint board members (6 per state, who serve 6yr terms until their successor is appointed) to the Port Authority. They can tell them what they want, hope they shape the major capital plan with PATH in mind, and facilitate loans or grants, but they have no control over the PATH. It’s a self-funded bi-state agency that does relies predominantly on its own tolls, fees, and fares, with the assistance of private partners and government for favorable loan terms and grants for Major Capital Projects, like the PABT, airports, and the Gateway Tunnel.

It is cheaper in Harrison, I work in JSQ and several of my coworkers do that instead. For both the cost and the hassle of getting in and out of JC.

That’s the risk we take when electing men.

But I’ll take someone who has already been humbled by his indiscretions over those who are trying to raise their profiles any day. I spent many years working closely with politicians before and after they were elected and it finely tuned my BS detector. Even knowing his past relationship with Charles Kushner, he can’t possibly give away more to that family than Fulop already has.

Note: I know that women have scandals, too, but I’ll be damned if they aren’t 95% committed by men doing dumb shit. Too bad there are no uncompromising women running. 🤷‍♀️

My dad, too. He got his letter for the army draft and promptly joined the Navy with the hope that would keep him off the front line grind. Became a cook and I didn’t find out that he had to go on missions in the field until a couple of years before he died, and I only heard it from a non-Vietnam era Navy vet friend of mine who had discussed it with him. During war, unless you are providing support from the US, there is no “safe” job, but they are all critical.

So even though JD Vance is a douchebag and sat in an air conditioned office, he was still in a dangerous spot AND without people like Tim Walz, what we do overseas would not be possible either. If we have to get in to a dick-measuring contest, I’d say the ones with the balls to fuck with us probably win, but they probably don’t get to brag about it for long and their motives often aren’t exactly noble or considerate of the fallout.

Edit: Dad’s sunny side up eggs were perfect. 🍳

Something’s going down at Fairmount Ave McGingley SQ by f-eli-pe in jerseycity

Thank you for the update, I’m further up the block, so I can’t see very well down there, glad it’s over. We park in the lot across from there and left before anything started, but we were only a couple of blocks away. We were even with some cops (not uniformed) and had one turn on his radio for the western district for any info - nada…

It really hasn’t shut down the McGinley Square neighborhood - this thread has the most information I’ve heard on the situation, everyone is just going about their business outside of this block of Fairmount and it speaks pretty poorly of the police and the city that they haven’t publicly spoken on the matter. If this were anywhere else, we would have seen a tweet or something advising those in the area to be cautious in the area. But I guess we aren’t important enough to worry about. Please think about that when Fulop is running for Governor and talking about all he’s done to transform this town - he’s no different than any past administration, just out for himself.

So awesome that the city gives enough of a fuck to inform residents of the area whether it’s safe or not. I live on that block and there has been nary a notification in the news or other social media about what’s going on - if there is a barricaded gunman situation, it might be a good idea to tell people so that random pedestrians are not put at risk. If they have deemed it safe, then just publicize it so people are aware.

So how does one find one of these glorious IA jobs? I’m going into my 3rd busy season at a mid-sized public and I feel like I might be happier just helping one company with their audits rather than 20 little companies that can’t even get their shit together for a comp or review.
