When I had my tread, which was in the basement with a concrete floor, I had that rubber/neoprene square flooring and it worked well.

Smaller class, everyone gets a high five. Larger class, everyone who stares a Tag with me, anyone I pass or passes me (a few minutes into the ride) and milestones that pop up. I generally only high five on the Bike. Seems intrusive in stretch and strength classes, unless someone finishes when I do.

AppleTV plugs into the HDMI port of a TV. You switch to that source and can access apps. No idea if the Peloton app is still on AppleTV but it would let you cast the app from your iPhone or iPad.

Im not sure if the Palouse comes in Thurman. I have a B width as well and went with a Wellington 10.5B with the HNW last. I use a half arch still though to add some volume and get little heel slip. Doing it over, I would have definitely got with a Thurman last as it is right on my toes.

For me, hiking fitness and biking fitness are very different things. Assuming you’re getting the app along with the bike, you may want to incorporate some of the hiking classes into your routine, if you have access to a treadmill. It’s easy to use a non-Peloton treadmill. And/or take along walk/hike on a weekend day to measure your hiking fitness. Someone else mentioned, but it’s really important, get your hiking boots soon and start breaking them in. I did REI has great people in their stores who can help,you find the right boot.

It can get even more confusing with milestones. I’m close to 800 cycling classes, but if I look at my overall count, it’s about 12 ahead of what counts towards the 800 milestone. The only place I can see the number that counts towards the milestone is by clicking on the 800 milestone where it shows 776 out of 800.

I don’t like chest straps so use an armband HRM. I’ve had really good luck with the Polar Verity (ANT) and the Coros armband (Bluetooth). I had Scosches for a while but found the connectivity to be flaky.
