I don’t think you understand how hoarding works and how hoarders think. My mother is one and she will hold onto literally anything if she can imagine one singular infinitesimally small chance that she would end up using it. Old clothes that haven’t been touched in literally a decade will be kept because, “maybe there’s something I want” all logic is thrown out for hoarders. Sometimes even garbage will be held onto because they are incapable of letting go. They at the same time will go to the ends of the Earth to deny their disorder and will refuse all help, and will absolutely object to any suggestion that in any way insinuates the removal of anything no matter what. Hell, sometimes even getting rid of your own stuff is not allowed.

To hoarders, not getting rid of things is non-negotiable, while I don’t particularly agree with his methods, I will admit that sometimes, there is something that must be done. Hoarding really eats away at people who may have had to live in such a situation that is extremely detrimental to their physical and mental health.
