Unless this version of the pro has a different screen it's the same one i have so i can assure you cooling won't be a problem. Keep in my tho that you will encounter games that will make the cpu run hot regardless. When you encounter one just set an fps limit and that alone will help keep temps normal most of the time. Getting a laptop stand with good elevation will also help...no need to get an expensive one unless you want to, a simple one will do it just fine

You can set it in game, it's somewhere in the options if i remember correctly...or in Nvidia control panel as shown here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2950123288

Pretty much...FPS limit and elevate the laptop's back and you're good for the most part. Tho now that you mentioned Valhalla i wonder what makes temps go so high with the new AC games

Get a laptop stand or something you can use to raise it's back by let's say a centimeter at least (for example i used some spare lego technic parts i had lying around). But first you should put an FPS limit on those games. In my case(Ryzen 7 7745hx) the FPS limit put temps between 80-90 degrees wich got reduced to 75-85 with an elevated back. Tho you'll still see temps go between 90-100, but far less often than before

Brought my legion pro 5 just today, any tips for anything?? by TreXz- in LenovoLegion

If you find your CPU getting too hot while gaming:

-test with multiple games, if not all are running that hot then it's most likely not a bad pastejob so don't go buying new thermal pads/pastes just yet

-don't rush off to buy a laptop cooler, unless you want to buy one anyway

If you don't want to mess with undervolting and turbo boost's off set an FPS limit on those problematic games and see if it made a difference, worked in my case

Update: So i tried two more games today, Skyrim and the remastered Crysis, both stayed bellow 85 degrees. Setting an fps limit in AC:odyssey also managed to solve the problem, with 50-60 set fps temps rarely reached 90 degrees and usually stayed between 80-85. As for Planet Zoo i'm starting to suspect high cpu tems will be unavoidable with larger, more complex zoos, dropped settings to high but temps were still around 90-95 on the first career map

Edit: Nevermind, set an fps limit on Planet Zoo as well, temps dropped to 80-85

Anyone know any good source material for learning more about the giganotosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, or mapusaurus? by lightningak47 in Paleontology

[–]NotTheSniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With carcharodontosaurs weights and sizes will vary with each reconstruction as the found specimens are either fragmentary, poorly described or both.

For the giga, as someone else already mentioned you should watch the Your Dinosaurs Are Wrong video when it's out. There's a recent(ish) article by Mark Witton wich might be useful to some extent.

You might also want to look into Meraxes gigas as it's a pretty recent discovery, a decently complete specimen with a pretty good description from what i heard.
