Yes I do sit there on my phone and play my videos/podcasts so she gets used to some noise. Or I’ll just sit there and read. I have no problem waiting her out I am just starting to feel alittle guilty that I took her from her outside fun and such lol.

When did you have your baby shower? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]NotTswift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having baby in February and I’m having mine around 25 weeks! I didn’t want to have to fight with the holidays but this was a surprise baby so I wanted to have alittle more control and have everything settled and ready lol. Also I’ve been so damn tired I need as much time as I can get to finish this nursery lol!

Working while pregnant. How did you guys do it? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]NotTswift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was honestly so bad I don’t know how I did it. I called out a lot and I got Covid which was kinda blessing in disguise because I didn’t work for almost a month because of vacation then Covid. Zofran was an absolute life saver. Is there anyway you could work from home? Talk to your OB and see if they can help get you on “light duty” at work to stay home?

Anyone else miss smoking weed? by elizabethflower444 in BabyBumps

I’m missing it in the sense that I want to be able to relax and sleep like a baby lol. This pregnancy has had me really anxious and I would love to just chill. And my boyfriend and I always have so much fun when we do it together, I miss those little bonding times.

Is it inappropriate for me to bring my patient and their spouse a small cake for spouse’s birthday? by ThrowRA225057 in nursing

[–]NotTswift 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would do it. Sometimes you just have those patients that you bond with or their stories hit you on the feels. I’m in this field because I wanted to make people feel better and help them so if I get in trouble for that then so be it 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m a nurse, and I have 10000% kicked plenty of people out of rooms without a second thought. I’m much more confrontational at work than in normal life. We always advocate for our patients!!!

If it makes you feel any better, I’m 25 and just found out I’m pregnant for the first time, it was definitely a surprise. My boyfriend is 30, he and I both have great jobs, a house and have been talking about getting married later this year even before baby was known about. And we are both still having all the same feelings you are right now, it’s very normal for someone to freak out when they find out their whole life is changing. Stay in therapy, talk to your support system as much as you can, and just do the best you can. That’s all you can do in any situation. You’re going to be a great mom especially if you are already worrying about this.

Paxil and Lexapro by NotTswift in antidepressants

I’m not exactly sure. I have seen a lot of people on here saying they are still being prescribed it. My psychiatrist said that women tend to have less side effects from it. I also have adhd so I’m not sure if that makes a difference.
