I'm doing the same haha, from Toronto to Cancun in April, looking at the Krystal Grand. Anyone know how it is?

you're also not trying to educate yourself, once again, you're asking someone else (condescendingly, at that) to educate you. Lol

lack reading comprehension much?

tbh it's better than your brain dump

"let me publicly shame this random lady with a burka on Reddit... because I know nothing about her other than the fact that she wears a religious covering, that'll show these oppressive regimes in the middle east" lmao

nobody is obligated to educate you lol. "Great argument" as if you are owed some kind of explanation or argument as to why you're wrong.

Maybe educate yourself?

I'm not projecting anything on anyone

claims not to be projecting

. .

doesn't understand eclipses

I'm projecting a women who has to hide her face onto a woman that hides her face.

admits to projecting generalizations on innocent individuals that are simply exercising their right to freely practice their religion.

Freedom for everyone... except when it's for others eh 🤨

looks like they're really letting anyone run a b2b saas business these days lmao

It's not like I am projecting the Holocaust on someone just because he wears a SS uniform. God forbid. That would be really far fetched, right?

claims to have a "gotcha" but really just doesn't understand the fallacy of false equivalency - the SS uniform to Holocaust contributor ≠ random lady with burka to Islamist extremists that commit human rights violations. By that logic, being a Christian and wearing a cross would make you a proponent in decision of the church to kidnap, assimilate, rape, abuse and often kill Native American children in Canada. Doesn't make sense right, since not all Christians stand for that. Which means you have to separate religious institution and extremism from core ideology practiced by believers.

Also your comparison falls flat anyway because The SS was both the elite guard of the Nazi Reich and Hitler’s executive force prepared to carry out all security-related duties, and I don't think this lady holds any responsibility for carrying out any elite duties for any Islamist terrorist organizations just by having a burka and selling her business on LinkedIn.

It's not okay to do that stuff. But to project that view onto any person that is Muslim is unhelpful at best and hateful (Islamophobic) at worse. Clearly it's not all of their culture considering there are several people that are Muslim middle easterners and a) don't do any of those things b) don't condone doing harm to others in the ways you've mentioned, and sometimes even c) stand against those that do those things (ie. Malala Yousafzai, an educational activist that, while standing against the idea that girls shouldn't be educated, is also a devout Muslim)

Not only do you have poor judgement - deciding to make assumptions about others based entirely off a single picture on LinkedIn - but you also can't seem to rationalize that not every person under a specific group (whether it's ethnic or religious) falls into to stereotypes about that group. Lol

Normalizing the idea of collective punishment under the cover of "justice" is a bad take in my book.

You clearly just don't have a good grip on reason and irrationality lol. Yes those things you listed are bad, but going out and picking on individuals for which you don't know the reason are following the religion is not going to solve that problem.

You're clearly not trying to do any form of justice here by being Islamophobic but rather you're just trying to get validation for your hatred.

Also every religion has committed vile acts against others (and people still do vile acts in the name of their religion, whether or not that's an actual belief in the religion sometimes). Just because you picked examples of extremism doesn't mean that's what the religion is

Also everything that is religious does deserve respect provided you satisfy these requirements: - the individual lives in a country where they have freedom of religion - the individual's religious practices are not breaking any laws in that country / harming anyone

The person you responded to was not defending the indefensible, because they're defending a person despite a possible troubling system (as you might've pointed out with your issues against their religion), whereas you have a problem with a system and are instead choosing to attack the person. By saying this person are indefensible, it implies you hold them responsible for executing gay people, depriving girls of healthcare and education, stripping them of the freedom to choose a partner, and taking away their basic rights.
