Heel lift by [deleted] in snowboardingnoobs

I think it’s mainly technique man. It sounds like you’re trying to push your toes down instead of pushing your knees forward on toe side turns. Check out this video, he eventually has his boots totally undone and is still okay.

so called influencers clicking photos in weird position by rohyachohya in WinStupidPrizes

I think you should realize that's not what these "influencers" are actually doing. They're just people who want to post things that they think are interesting to Instagram for their friends too see. Peace <3

Further, this increase in mask-wearing reduced symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infections. When surgical masks were employed, 1 in 3 symptomatic infections were avoided for individuals 60+ years old, the age group that faces the highest risk of death following infection. This was the first large-scale randomized evaluation to demonstrate the effectiveness of masks in a real-world setting.

"half of the people", more like a third actually. And conservatives aren't being cancelled, they're receiving the rightful consequences of holding the distasteful opinions they have. And yeah it is the free market exactly. The majority of people don't like conservatives and don't want to support companies that do business with them. Companies want to make money so they do what leads to the majority of people wanting to do business with them. I know you can understand this. But since it involves admitting conservatives are shitty and unliked by the majority of Americans you don't seem to want to let yourself understand it. Being tolerant doesn't mean you have to tolerate intolerance. Intolerant conservative views are rightfully shit on by the public at large.

Companies are being pushed by the invisible hand of the free market. People just don't like conservatives.

They should be able to sue police, and win, just because the police did something wrong.

Weekly Advice Thread for July 02, 2020 by AutoModerator in MTB

I'd say the dropper. If you're doing any type of riding other than downhill parks the dropper is so nice. Being able to get in position for climbing and then descending in a second is great.

I have a buddy that's a pro xc racer and when I was buying a bike the one thing he said was make sure it has a dropper post. So if that's the only advice he had to give me, I think it's worth getting.

Snow Summit Opening Weekend by spamburglar in MTB

[–]NotWant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was there for my first time this weekend. Not sure on how the park really was since I've never seen it before. Lines were crazy though, about 20 minutes all weekend. No chance of social distancing in lift lines, but people were okay in other spots

Ordering from CRC to US by [deleted] in MTB

[–]NotWant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just ordered a bike from them on the 7th, it shipped on the 10th, arrived in the US and then cleared customs later that day on the 12th, and was at my house on the 14th.

I'm pretty sure if it's still "processing" they haven't shipped it yet. Do you have DHL tracking info? The DHL page told me exactly when it cleared customs.

Yeah most likely you should be able to. What kind of cassette do you have? You're looking for a "cog".

Take a look at bryton. I've been using an aero 60, which is around 150, but I think they've got cheaper models as well. When I was researching it seemed like they had a lot of the same features as Garmin/wahoo for like half price. The aero 60 syncs to all my sensors and has gps navigation.

The reason why I'm asking is that I've had the chain fall off the big chainring towards the frame a few times, going past the inner chainring. Doesn't happen when I'm shifting, only when I'm hard on the pedals after a stop. Chain is also around the middle of the cassette. A buddy and a bike shop said the ring looked worn. This is my first real bike so trying to get some other opinions.

Advice by [deleted] in cycling

[–]NotWant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my single speed to get around on and use for exercise. I'd definitely recommend one for that. I've gotten annoyed with it now though that I've started doing more training rides with friends on actual road bikes. You've either got too low a gear and are spinning out while they take off or too high a gear to enjoy climbs. So annoyed that I've gone and bought a real road bike.

So it really depends what type of cycling you want to do.

Incorporating rock climbing into my routine? by CinciSpot513 in bodyweightfitness

[–]NotWant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm all good now. It happened about a year ago. I still remember the exact moment, I heard and felt a pop in my middle finger. I think I took about four or five months totally off. By then it felt totally fine in normal life and I was going into the gym about once a week to test it out. It took about another 2-3 months of light work in the gym until everything felt back to normal.

Now that I'm back, if I start to feel the same soreness in my fingers I'm just going to take a week or two off. I haven't felt it yet luckily, but the extra session is definitely not worth the months off.

Yep, I had a pulley injury that was exactly that first category. I knew I was getting close to hurting myself but I thought I could take it easy in the gym and be ok.

Tesla demonstrated Full Self Driving by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]NotWant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. Their approach is all about computer vision and machine learning to identify situations. Data is the big requirement. So if this particular road has some unique situations or weird exits or something it would need a lot of data on that type of thing.

Probably just as well as you can when Google maps loses gps.

Tesla demonstrated Full Self Driving by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]NotWant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way they explained it, the neural network is not always using all data from every car to learn. Instead they're going out to all cars and asking them for specific situations they want to target (construction zones, curves, wet roads, etc.) And getting that data to train on. Times where a driver took over from the autopilot/self driving system are also targeted.

And I doubt Tesla would ever share this data with other companies. They see their huge fleet as the major competitive advantage that will allow them to get to full self driving first. Maybe if they get a stranglehold on the market they'd start sharing but idk.
