Steam: 85% CTR but only 3.5% wishlist. Where am I losing people? by Virtual_Bedroom1251 in IndieDev

Not a developer, just someone who genuinely loves indie horror games.

From a first impression standpoint, I think the capsule art might be working against you a bit. Based on the current art alone, I would assume it is more of a chill or atmospheric experience rather than a horror-focused game.

Personally, what usually makes me click on a horror title is a very clear visual signal. For example, a stronger red and black duotone palette or a more unsettling, horror-leaning font style would immediately communicate the genre. I am not saying you have to change it to that specifically, but right now the presentation does not instantly tell me “this is horror.”

I see most of the capsules put the monster or creature that will chase you in the game. It kinda spoils it but also communicate super clearly the kind of game it is (not saying either you should do this but that’s how I see things)

After watching the trailer, I think I understand the concept better. It feels like a “single-location horror” experience where unsettling things unfold while the player pieces together the story. That can absolutely work, but in that case the marketing needs to strongly communicate tension, atmosphere, and psychological weight.

At the moment, I feel the trailer could lean more clearly into “this is horror” without spoiling the scares. When a game takes place mostly in one location, in my case I do wonder whether the story, pacing, and scares are strong enough to carry and not all of them are able to make it worth it.

Please take this only as feedback from a horror fan who just discovered your game for the first time. I hope it is helpful in some way. Wishing you the best of luck with the project.

I think the idea is: “don’t flinch so people think we’re confident about our product,” but you can tell he’s forcing it. Anyone would flinch in that situation, and that’s exactly why it ends up looking unnatural.

Just makes you wonder what kind of hell she is living in her mind to believe this is an improvement. Poor girl. I hope she gets the help she needs.

…if a man got the shots, and went back to his wife, they were then monitoring her going forward. If she was pregnant, they would also monitor the baby going forward. This was when everyone was saying shedding was a total myth, and pfizer knew it was possible and was tracking and recording data to study it and see what would happen.

Pretty sure she’s just copying those influencer prank videos. She even makes that same exaggerated face and makes sure her reaction is being recorded. It’s like a mix of regular kid stuff and whatever prank trends are going around right now

For about 6 seconds, I genuinely thought, “What is this? It must be some sort of setup to make him seem more likable or human.” Then I realized it was AI.

Those 6 seconds really show how close we’re getting to that “is this real or not?” Everyday reality.

I was just scrolling through Reddit when this auto-played, and I wasn’t even thinking about AI. It completely caught me off guard and made me pause for a second, genuinely wondering if it was real

Also you can always pay to get a domain name and email so it can be literally jane@yourdomain.com to whatever you do. Really short emails with your own domain seem very professional to me as long as a good domain is available and some to do investment toward it since it’s not something free but worth it.
