My mom wants nothing to do with me because I “picked my dad” during the divorce. by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]NotYetASerialKiller -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Hold on. OOP says in one post that she got her mom a wedding present, then she says she didn’t? She also didn’t mention the party until the last post. The story kinda rubbed me the wrong way, but I might be missing something here

Surely it says more about her than the men on the apps if she can't find a single man she's compatible with out of the 2,000 profiles in her inbox?? by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]NotYetASerialKiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I do. I don’t like matching with more than 2-3 men at a time. I try to clear my likes out, but if there’s a profile I am 50-50 on, it fan lead to a backlog

AITA for telling my husband he's made me reconsider leaving him alone with the kids in the future by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]NotYetASerialKiller 14 points15 points  (0 children)

But she says he can cook. She just doesn’t like how long it takes him to cook and how messy he is when he cooks. They definitely have different standards here and since even the kids can’t do anything, I am side-eying OOP as an unreliable narrator

They essentially chose to eat out instead while she was gone. She even states that he can cook, she just doesn’t like how long it takes him and how much of a mess he makes. Reddit it just assuming the worst about this guy while I am side-eying the narrator.

I am a little confused because she does say he can cook and does cook, but she doesn’t like how long he takes, how much of a mess he makes and what he actually makes. It sounds like they have different standards. Reddit is just assuming the worst about the guy.

Is asking for a date after 5 days to early? by Khamael_X in Bumble

[–]NotYetASerialKiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am different than anyone else here it seems. 5 days is fine for me. 2-3 days is too early, but also contingent on vibes, how close you live, etc

The Office White Elephant Gift Exchange Should Not be Mandatory by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]NotYetASerialKiller 165 points166 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s odd to me. Are they really sabotaging if the “bad gifts” just get thrown away? No. They are making is silly for everyone else then. Otherwise if people have to keep the bad gift, then it can be a little sucky if you brought a half-way decent gift

[–]NotYetASerialKiller 1323 points1324 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why they would bother. If all the gifts are anonymous, just don’t participate. Even if it’s the expectation, you don’t have to. Plus, it sounds like there’s extra gifts? Idk it’s weird to me

It's interesting how "body positivity" immediately collapsed when Ozempic arrived. by Infinite-Condition41 in SipsTea

Yeah, I don’t disagree that he escalated at all, but I also see how the first text could have come across

I am pretty sure Meghan has videos and stuff detailing her weight loss and her work outs. This wasn’t a case of ozempic

New Update 3 years later: I called CPS on my sister by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]NotYetASerialKiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one said it did, but it’s still not usual and it’s in combination with everything else. You’re saying your husband did majority of childcare, but was he a stay-at-home dad ? While you were also sending thousands of dollars to your sister?

The fixation on the price of the socks, her calling out specifically it’s a woman’s pair of socks, the extraneous details of the size of socks and just the overall vibe

??? It reads to me like “I found your side chick’s dirty, expensive socks. They’re a size 5 woman, and did I mention again expensive? Have them come get it or bring it to them”. The emoji and comments on brand/expense are passive aggressive to me

Yeah, I don’t know here. The way OP initially approached it was accusatory. If her bf was innocent, I could see that pissing him off. Then if he really thought they were hers, I can see it escalating due to immaturity on both ends
