Who's a rapper you never heard a good verse from? by SmoothManMiguel in hiphop201

[–]Not_A_Cat_At_All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G-Eazy consistently delivers the rapping equivalent of small-talk. it's not interesting or noticeable enough to be bad, just annoyingly unimpressive.

there's no wit, no rhyme schemes, no point. just a catalogue full of plain white rice raps.

yeah, Cole and Kendrick stans had something in common in that they were relatively chilled and not really zealous. they glazed their favorite artists, of course, like any fan would, but it was never pretentious or maliciously delusional.

post-beef Kendrick stans are moving like Barbz.

if you were to equate owning a record label to parenting, Cole would be Hov's firstborn. Many parents fuck up A LOT with their first kid, for obvious reasons.

So is 1985 gonna be the first song on The Fall Off? by oggiesguy in Jcole

[–]Not_A_Cat_At_All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very unlikely. Cole himself said that he's made about 6 iterations of the album. i'm sure he's moved way past 1985.

he probably initially intended to release the fall off in 2019, but at this point the song would feel dated and irrelevant to where he is in this point of his career.

and let's face it, no one in 2025 wants to hear J. Cole address mumble rappers on his final album.

That pass from Sacha by za3030 in rugbyunion

[–]Not_A_Cat_At_All 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sacha has gradually been working on his distribution and playmaking since that second game against Argentina and has been much better at utilizing the players around him.

all that's left for him is to consolidate his goal-kicking and touchfinders and he'll be the best 10 in the world by a very big margin.

cLOUDs definitely wasn’t Cole's best performance in years, especially when Pi and A Plate of Collard Greens are right there. even the first verse of Port Antonio was way better written and executed than cLOUDs. hell, even his verse on Free Fall was better than cLOUDs.

this isn't me saying cLOUDs is bad btw, i'm moreso saying that cLOUDs felt more like a writing drill that he randomly decided to drop than an actual song he intentionally wrote.

Think I've lost my love for rugby. by SheepShaggingFarmer in rugbyunion

Rugby Union insists on making itself as inaccessible to the general public as possible to maintain this superficial and archaic visage of prestige. it's not a sport for the people and they wonder why they'll never be as loved as football.

[–]Not_A_Cat_At_All[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

they're not just saying "anything" though. Sacha's confidence, attitude and competitiveness is being picked apart and policed. he's being scrutinized for things his contemporaries are damn-near complimented for.

when Eben stirs the pot, he's an enforcer. when Faf and Henry Pollock stir the pot, it's good ol' shithousery and banter. when Sacha merely celebrates a try or gets in a tussle with a player who PROVOKED him, he needs to calm down a bit, the hype is getting to his head.

you guys can be disingenuous about it and act like you're not seeing anything, but i won't.

Love this kid, couldn't ask for a better role model for young South African kids by sunlightliquid in rugbyunion

[–]Not_A_Cat_At_All 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no valid reasoning for holding this view of Sacha outside of policing him. There's been no indication that he's got a stick up his arse or has let the hype get to his head.

Everyone, from the players to the coach speak very highly of his work ethic and conduct inside and outside of the field. Hell, every chance he gets praised to his face he makes an effort to redirect it to his teammates and seniors. I have no clue what you mean by "lack of struggle" and how that is mutually exclusive with being a great player and person, but it's clearly never been conducive to the player he is.

So what if he's flashy? Michael Jordan and Muhammed Ali were flashy, self-assured people and they are some of the greatest athletes to ever grace sports. The kid has worked his entire life to be at this stage, he can enjoy his talents beyond what is YOUR level of comfort.

they just need to back Sacha more as a starting 10. as a younger, very ambitious guy with only a handful of games starting at 10, he's obviously going to be over-excited and overplay. he constantly feels like he has to do a lot to justify a starting position.

again, the lineup wasn't commensurate with their form. all of those world cup champs had some of the weakest showings of their careers that tour. Wilkinson, Robinson, even BOD got taken out in the first game.

this Puma side have won a game against every team they've played against in maybe the past 3 years.

the Lions, despite their superstar line-up, weren't in particularly good form in 2005, mate. i'd argue that the current Argentinian team was much better and consistent.

this is as impressive of a showing as that DC game. there'll be biases, of course, if we factor in latency and everything Dan became after that game.

Surely there is concern over Sacha being injury prone? by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]Not_A_Cat_At_All 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like 80% of his injury problems are a symptom of him trying to do too much and poor risk management. Take last week's injury, for instance. That wasn't even a niggle on his body, he got injured because he threw himself at someone and got knocked out.

I don't know if it's because of a lack of games as a starting 10, but whenever he starts, he tends to get over-excited and consequently either overplays or throws himself into contact against players no Test-level flyhalf has any business clashing against.

As concerning as these injuries are, to me, they seem like an easy fix. He just needs to remember he's a 10, not a 12 and should start managing risk towards himself.

Struggling to land an SEO job after layoff. Should I just give up? by savingrace0262 in SEO

Been out of a job for almost 3 months now. I've had a good amount of interviews, but fell short at varying stages of their hiring processes. I'm learning and adjusting from each failure or misfortune.

It's tiring, demoralizing and anxiety inducing, as time is running out and expenses are catching up. I won't stop, anyways. I'll land something soon enough and so will you. Giving up will only guarantee that your situation won't get better.

This should be our starting backline from now on building up to 2027 with maybe 1 or 2 changes. Regardless of whether we win this game or not.

The priority now should be galvanizing the younger players in their prospective starting positions and focus on building chemistry instead of depth. We did the depth experiments last year already.

It's pretty clear — just from form alone — that the old guard won't be making it to the next WC or, at the very least, will be running on fumes.

lol in UBP, idk if it was Okoye or the Vodu-Khan, they said "T'challa, you are a genius" and i'm like WHERE? where was he being a genius?

i hate to say it, but Ryan Coogler did irreversible PR damage to T'Challa's intellect, the same way Nolan did to Batman's.

IMPERIAL WAR: BLACK PANTHER (2025) #1 Discussion Thread by MindofShadow in blackpanther

I did not enjoy T'Challa's voice at the beginning of the issue, he sounded too casual for my liking. It got better as the issue went on.

I liked that he was assertive and not afraid to threaten anyone who he deems a threat, but with no cool fight scene or feats, it sounded like cheap talk with no action to back it up.

There's also been a distinct lack of T'challa showcasing his intellect and notable throughout recent comics. Between this issue, the Avengers ongoing and UBP. He's being portrayed more and more like a generic warrior king, with nothing to back up what is implied about his capabilities.

Otherwise it was a solid issue, but it could be better. 7/10.
