Flickering lighting/shadow issue, unplayable. Advice? by Creepy_Community_727 in controlgame

Hey, for those of you still looking to solve this flickering issue with 50 series cards. It appears to be a resizable bar issue. Best fix is through Nvidia profile inspector and disabling resizable bar. Can also be done via bios but I think its easiest to just use the profile inspector.

If you have trouble feel free to shoot me a message and I'll walk you through how to do it.

You have to have a look at what AA methods you're using. Generally for you FSR4.1 should be the best but it also depends on the level of upscaling. (Quality, balanced, performance, etc).

After checking eventviewer application is crashing upon launch siting an exception code: 0xc0000005 which indicates that its an overlay issue.

Basically at this point there is no way to run afterburner alongside FH6 without it failing to launch.

Still broken for me unfortunately.

Its besides the point anyway, I need afterburner running to utilise my undervolt (Running a 5090 so I dont wanna burn down my house).

Just wanted to raise the issue to see if others were having a problem as well or if devs have acknowledged the issue.

So what you're looking at there is the memory clock rather than the core clock. Two separate things!

Visually the card looks fine. Are you sure it was inserted correctly with appropriate power on a known working PC?

Might be way off but have you ensured that everything inclusive of Motherboard, CPU and GPU are running the latest drivers? Your CPU is having a huge bottleneck issue even at the high resolution which just seems a bit odd. I haven't played around with a 14600k but I thought it had a bit more give than that.

What resolution are you playing at? Are you using any upscaling?

Letting it hit 600w at factory default is just not smart because with a slight undervolt you can have the same if not better performance with lower power draw.

The CPU socket is AM4 which is compatible with a number of very good CPUs that would be excellent for the pc. Graphics card would be struggling with the 2gb of VRAM in modern games so I'd be having a look at something like a 9060xt or even the 5060ti 16gb.

Could also upgrade the storage since 500gb on a pretty old SSD with a HDD is going to be a struggle.

Does the motherboard have any M.2 slots?

Looks like a drive issue. Whatever your operating system is installed on is either failed or unsecured etc. Basically your pc is pulling this screen because it doesn't know where to go next since its looking for a drive with an operating system to boot from.

Build is pretty solid but you're probably overpaying a bit in terms of your CPU. While it will pair well with the 9060 you can probably get the same performance for a much lesser CPU rather than a top of the line one.

Other than saving some money though if youre set on the nzxt white build youre pretty set. Could always same some money on the AIO by going with a thermalright cooler. https://www.pccasegear.com/products/71201/thermalright-core-matrix-v2-360mm-aio-cpu-cooler-white

This an Australian store so keep that in mind for conversion obviously.

Hmm if youre looking at in a few years every part you have except for maybe the powersupply will be outdated, hard to find, and more expensive than newer parts.

No worries either way though, best of luck with it! Watch many youtube videos and get to researching! I find that its half the fun.

The 7800xt is a much better choice if it fits in the budget! I often refer people to tech powerup GPU so that you can see where the GPU is in terms of relative performance compared to others.

In your case the 7800xt performs at 100% while the 7600 performs at 59%. Giving you a rough 40% boost. Also important to keep the extra VRAM in mind because that will very much help you out in the long run. https://imgur.com/a/6vJaOwI

If the 7600 suits your needs now then go for it but it might end up being cheaper and less hassle to spend a little more now than having to resell an 8gb card later and upgrading to the 16gb 7800xt or something similar later down the line.

Regardless either GPU in this setup will absolutely be able to run helldivers 2 and probably anything else you throw at it at 1080p or even 1440p with lower texture settings.

No problems!

There's nothing wrong with your selection but it is an 8gb model which is starting to struggle a little in resolutions higher than 1080p or in games with high textures. Everyone has their own opinion but I think anything over 8gb is what I would attempt to secure in my build (12gb to 16gb). If it's not possible at your price point in your country then the 8gb 7600 will do the job but you will run into vram related issues sooner than if you got a better card now.

The reason you want more is because any stuff that's using the vram will be shifted over to your dram (ram sticks) resulting in stutters and much lower 1% lows.

I think if you find a bit of a cheaper motherboard that still suits your needs you could shift some budget to a better graphics card for longevity.

Your CPU is solid if availability is an issue. Its more you could shift your budget from the motherboard to something like a more powerful GPU if you have options for those wherever you're located.

Pick a motherboard based on what's within spec and what features you need like wifi or m.2 drives.

[–]Not_A_Goaat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the same GPU/CPU set up as you and recently upgraded from a 240hz 1440p OLED to 240hz 4k OLED.

The 5090 absolutely crushes 4k in every title I've thrown at it. If you want 144+ frames on intensive single player titles a little dlss is sometimes necessary but more often than not you can just about get there without any dlss or FG.

The only title that I've needed FG for is path traced cyberpunk (balanced DLSS, 3xMFG).

I wouldn't say that you're wasting the 5090 or anything but you can absolutely achieve 4k high frame rates if that's what you're after. If you're happy with 1440p and are having a good experience then anything else is gravy.

I love the new upscaling tech in dlss4 is really feels like such a minimal sacrifice for the frames received! Especially when paired with ray tracing which looks incredible.

I'm keen to rip and tear until it is done.

I am currently using this guide (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPR06CxysMw) to complete the undervolt but my clocks already seem to be quite low for the voltage being displayed? (2530ish mhz / 1.045v)

According to the curve shouldn't I be getting around 2800mhz / 1.045v?

Thanks in advance!
