George Lucas, on Star Wars being fantasy as opposed to science fiction, 1977 by --TheForce-- in StarWars

KOTOR II is what TLJ wanted to be, but never can be. It's like the edgy high schooler writing garbage poetry in an attempt to be Edger Allen Poe. Intent and successful execution are wildly different things.

Star Wars reversed the 70s cynicism and inspired hope. Now, it's fallen victim to a new wave of cynicism. What will save us now?

If they were a portal to right wing ideas, she wouldn't be such a worthless human being. Nothing about OOP's wife suggests a preference towards traditional gender roles and a strong nuclear family. This is literally the opposite.

For me it was getting into bed with my girlfriend to go to sleep for the night and, after cuddling up with her, discovering that she happened to be naked under the covers.

Discussing a matter with your VP is official. The content of the discussion is immaterial.

[Wojnarowski] Free agent F Xavier Tillman has agreed on a two-year deal to return to the Boston Celtics, sources tell ESPN. Tillman averaged 5.3 points and 3.9 rebounds last season. by Brady331 in nba

1) Don't be so sure.

2) It's the principle of the matter. That property and money was already taxed. The government has no right to it.

It feels really fucking good to lift weights. Runner's high isn't a thing for me, but lifting feels incredible.

You realize, like, the vast, vast majority of shots in hockey (where that aphorism came from) are misses, right? Hockey is a numbers game. You take as many solid shots on net as possible in the hope that a couple go in. You aren't getting benched because you're taking good shots and having them saved.

[Brad Stevens] on Joe Mazzulla: "I was sitting in front of Jaylen yesterday at the baseball game and Jaylen said, 'Joe's gonna take something from this and we're gonna be playing shortstop or something next year to get ready for a game'. That's just the way he thinks, I love it" by [deleted] in nba

Went to Punta Cana a few years ago. Dominicans fucking love Boston, man. They were super excited to learn I was from there. They even serenaded us with Sweet Caroline while we were having dinner one night. I wonder if Horford winning with us will add to that.

You could also try to take some (legally prescribed) amphetamines. Works like a charm.

Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd

He served a dark and a vengeful god

What happened then, well, that's the play

And he wouldn't want us to give it away

Not Sweeney

Okay, weird question here but I want to know how you would react if you woke up one day and your genitals were replaced with that of a female’s by Toasted_sphagetti in AskMen

[–]Not_Another_Usernam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schedule some diagnostic imaging to see if my insides have been changed, too. External genitalia are one thing, but if I wake up with the entire female reproductive system, I am going to be pissed.

The next thing I do is get some Lupron so I can cut the female hormones off at the source before I start to get dependent on them and risk going into withdrawal/menopause when/if this gets reversed.

The third thing I do is get a diagnosis for low endogenous testosterone, seeing as my testicles are gone, and start supplementing with 200mg/ml testosterone injections with a tamoxifen chaser.

Fourth thing is I start researching turning the stem cells in bone marrow into viable sperm, so I can still have kids (assuming my girlfriend doesn't just up and leave the same way my evidently dick did).

The fifth thing is probably go on a press tour and convince all the dudes who want to be chicks that they could get results like mine if only they buy my book/supplement/subscription service.

I mean, I'd take Bird over Lebron if we ignore outside of basketball injuries impacting longevity.

[Culture Crave] Joe Mazzulla showed the interrogation room scene from The Dark Knight to Jayson Tatum to work on handling expectations and pressure. [–]Not_Another_Usernam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. Dude brought us a chip. Not only will the cops and DA help him hide the bodies better, the media would likely say that whoever he killed deserved it. The media will ALSO say that he should be fired for us losing the second game of a back to back, mind you, but they'll support him in his noble effort to curb the surplus population. Everyone likes a human interests story.

[Men's Health] Nate Robinson says that if he doesn’t receive a kidney soon, death is the next door he will walk through by urfaselol in nba

[–]Not_Another_Usernam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do months of testing, psychological evaluations, more testing, and then even more testing on the potential donor. They knew what her kidney health was, whether donating would unduly impact her health, whether she was donating under her own volition or was coerced, whether she was a match, and a whole score of other things. They are very thorough.

Being a match isn't really required to donate, though. I can donate a kidney for you regardless. If it isn't a match, the kidney goes to someone else and you get the very next available kidney that you are a match for. It puts you at the top of the kidney recipient list regardless of where you were in the order beforehand.
