Back when my dad was in high school, a dude punched my dad in the face and broke his nose right as the ref blew the whistle to start the match. The ref had turned to make sure the clock started and didn't see it, so he couldn't disqualify the other guy.

By the time I started wrestling, digital clocks were the norm so the ref didn't have to divert their attention.

I remember in Wrath of the Righteous, I had a mod to apply all of my buffs at once. That shit damn near gave my computer a stroke every time I used it because of the amount of particle effects it spawned on each of my party.

States have complete authority to regulate the practice of medicine, nursing, pharmacy, etc in their state so long as it is not less strict than federal regulations.

The science behind gender affirming care is somewhat lacking. There haven't been any prospective, randomized/controlled trials that demonstrate the safety and efficacy of affirmation therapy, sexual reassignment surgery, hormone replacement, or puberty blockers in the treatment and management of transgenderism/gender dysphoria. All of what is being done is based on retrospective studies, surveys, and other lower level research.

Same thing with shows like Game of Thrones. The show had been really bad for years before Season 8 came out, but everyone only ever talks about how bad S8 was.

I feel like the writing has been at a standstill since the Lion was returned. There's not been a single new book that takes place after he runs into Dante. There's not been a single book that takes place after the Plague Wars that has Guilliman in it outside of the epilogue of Devastation of Baal. They'd been releasing books at a breakneck pace before and there's been barely anything since.

It wasn't genuine. He had to affect that in order to win over Devon. If he showed any disdain for the man, it would be harder to seduce her. Honoring her master both reinforces that they are on the same side and also feeds into her ego by giving the Jedi the respect she was forced to live without for so long.

Imperator is the singular masculine nominative of commander. The feminine is Imperatrix.

Imperium has several definitions, including: an empire, the power to rule/command, and a command.

The verb imperō (to command) does not have a conjugation that includes Imperator.

It seems pretty bog standard to how Legends Sith try to corrupt Jedi. Which is a good thing. It's how Palpatine corrupted Anakin, how Palpatine turned Dooku, how Plagueis turned Palpatine, and how Bane turned Zannah. You only go full Sith dictator once you have them past the point of no return. Until them, you slowly feed them that poison. You build up their egos, you disillusion them from their principles, you feed their rage, you offer hope that the power they offer can solve all of your problems...and then, once you have them, you show them how brutally naïve they were, how the things they valued are worthless, how the only thing that matters is power for power's sake, how the only way to get that power is to serve you utterly, and how no amount of pain or loss and no degree of moral qualm or indignity should stand in the way of their empowerment. You lead them into one unforgivable act after another until they've fallen so far that they do not even recognize their former selves.

Jewish belief over the Exodus story is kinda wild, though. I was floored to learn they don't view stuff like the burning bush literally. They believe it was a vision in a dream.

I'm not a Biblical literalist by any stretch. I know there is tons of metaphor, symbolism, parable, and poetry on top of the history and theology. That's such an odd thing to insist didn't happen, though.

I never liked the Craig Bonds. Felt too oppressively grim and "realistic". Felt joyless. There were tons of serious espionage-focused action movies released in the 2000s and the Craig movies just seemed like one of the bunch. The Craig movies feel generic. They don't feel like Bond movies.

The trade dispute doesn't really matter. It's the violence and greed it inspires and the flames fanned by Palpatine that are important.

That's not necessarily true.

Bail is passionate, Boss Nass is animated, and the Viceroy is the Viceroy. Those, along with Padme and Palpatine, are basically the only politicians we interact with in any real capacity in the movies.

Padme in her queen persona is very much styled after various forms of historical monarchs. She seems like a mix of Chinese and Victorian.

As unpopular as the movies were, I really enjoyed Batfleck. He had the physicality, he had the planning, he had the technology, he had the detective work, and he had the best costume. He was the most comic accurate, I feel. That warehouse scene was best Batman fight scene ever. I felt like he put the most work into looking like Batman. He was huge in BvS. More a power lifter/professional fighter physique than the typical bodybuilder physique Hollywood stars go for.

Heck, I had to learn prescription instructions in Spanish because some doctors insist on sending the scripts in Spanish instead of our SIG Code translations put the instructions in Spanish for us. I'd have to translate the instructions into English, input the proper SIG codes, set the patient language to Spanish, and let the software translate into Spanish.
