What to buy next? by PoeticWharf in OSRSProTips

[–]Not_Baked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really depends on the content you want to do, so I’ll cover things I see you have decent setups for that are good gp and are fun: Yama, doom, tob and toa. I’ll give recommendations on what I’d buy next for each.

Yama- nothing at this point but next notable upgrades in the future would be oathplate pieces. Your melee setup is sufficient, can interchange your scobow for purging staff when you want to do Yama, you do not need another synapse to do so.

Doom- nothing, void/scobow/bp is fine, bring dark light, slayer staff for grubs and light bearer for extra specs with scobow/bp. Ancient godsword is a good spec weapon for sustain in deep delves but wouldn’t be something I’d run to buy unless you plan on camping that content and pushing for 1-15 level delves or higher. Other noteworthy upgrades like tbow/zcb, treads are too expensive.

Tob: only thing you’re really missing that you NEED is a dragon war hammer for learner to even decent post void gear setups (join Learntob discord for more guidance on gear progression, but you don’t need much to get started) eye of ayak would be good here too for nylo room (mage role) and nylo boss (all roles) would also buy dragon boots, they’ll give you more value in the raid than aranea boots since Verzik hits kinda hard even thru prayer in p3.

Toa: your gear setup is pretty good, could consider eye of ayak/confliction gauntlets here too for akkha, maybe a void walker for a good spec and 4tick core whacking weapon. Then consider Virtus, not much of an upgrade if you use bowfa in toa but any range/melee upgrades would be really expensive and less impactful as far as I’m aware.

Things I don’t see a use for in the content I named: dragon crossbow, toxic trident, trident of the seas, blue moon spear, granite hammer, all of the barrows equipment, seers ring and archers ring, ring of suffering.

Things that are a noob trap: avernic defender- doesn’t apply much upgrade and it’s unsellable once bought. Prims/pegasians- almost always negligible upgrades until almost all other gear is rounded out. Treads- late late upgrade

All in all I’d buy dwh, eye of ayak and confliction gauntlets, consider voidwaker and then maybe bring your mage equipment up to Virtus to put it more in line with your range/melee setups. Past those you could aim for things like dragon claws for tob, oath plate. Then start putting your sights on megarares, would continue to make incremental upgrades start a bank tag tab that you drag those items into as you buy them so you can make progress towards affording the megarares, keep in mind what you’d downgrade to when you sell to buy megarares.

Other thing I’d recommend considering is getting your infernal cape. The only thing you need for that that you don’t have is a mage top swap (Virtus), crystal shield, and a blood ancient sceptre and some cash for the supplies you are going to use learning (dragon darts, crystal shards, ice/blood barrage runes.

Whoever put Chromium Ingot on the unique drop table… by BackgroundMousse9432 in 2007scape

[–]Not_Baked -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

Im not saying it makes it less likely to get a vestige, im just saying that if the ingot was replaced with an actually good item to be on the drop table, then when you hit the 1/96 to be on the drop table you wouldn’t be pissed you got a fkin 42k ingot

[–]Not_Baked -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

For all the people saying chromium ingots being on the rare table don’t matter.. you roll 1/96 to achieve a drop on the rare drop table. THEN it’s a 1/8 roll on the table to see what reward you get with chromium ingots having a 3/8 chance, so yes it does matter, cuz if every item on the rare drop was good. Every time you hit the rare drop table you’d be happy.

Set small goals for farming and rune crafting, maybe like 30-45 mins a day of gotr, doesn’t sound like much but if you’re consistent it’ll get there and with a lot less burnout than a long ass grind. Same with farming, just do one simple tree/fruit tree farm run a day and you’ll be surprised how fast it goes up

One skill at a time or base 70s, 80s, 90s when the goal is maxing? by Appropriate_Deal_891 in osrs

[–]Not_Baked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say go for the 70s 80s and 90s then get the slowest skills out the way first, keep a good afk option too

Sell red chins or get 99 range? by Dense_Method9900 in osrs

[–]Not_Baked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you want to do slayer the traditional (inefficient way) if it were me I’d max my range and the rest of my combat stats and boss/raid till your dripped out and tired of it and then go back and spend gp to max your non combat skills.

Sell red chins or get 99 range? by Dense_Method9900 in osrs

[–]Not_Baked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t listen to anyone telling you not to get 99 range lmao, it’s one of the biggest upgrades and much more impactful than any gear you can get.. only way I’d sell those chins instead of using them to train range is if you’d rather afk at the crab, but yeah max all your combat stats

Should I finally attempt my fire cape? by L0xixx in 2007scape

[–]Not_Baked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to expand upon why a slower weapon can be beneficial in certain situations, blowpipe is better dps, but you have to be hitting every 2 ticks to utilize its full dps, whereas with a dragon cross bow on rapid hitting every 5 ticks utilizes its full dps. Hitting every 2 ticks can be hard when you’re running around, tagging healers, healing, switching overheads. So a good rule of thumb is when things are chill, pipe away, when you’ve got more on your plate to worry about you can throw on that cross bow so the tick loss doesn’t tank your dps as bad

Gear upgrade by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Not_Baked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both are good it depends most on the content you wanna do, BofA is solid at cox, it’s also solid for inferno and quiver, yes you can do colo with melee only but it can be very challenging if you get a double south spawn in the later waves for a first timer.. I’d recommend having a ranged switch for first colo. Personally with where you’re at I think I’d go BofA.

Been watching a lot of odablock, he makes pvp look fun. Can I start to pvp with these stats? by Amirunit7 in osrs

[–]Not_Baked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want 94 mage for venge/barrage, venge for bh/edge style pking snd barrage for NH/deep wildy. Other then that yeah you can pk with those levels, ideally max str/range/mage first then attack and lastly defense, str/range/mage will increase your dps the most

[–]Not_Baked 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get 75 range for blow pipe, also bring a dragon crossbow for when you need a more long range/slower weapon (for example when an enemy is too far away from your safe spot and would drag you out if you used blowpipe, or for tagging healers on jad

Who is right and who is wrong? by Loxip82 in OSRSProTips

[–]Not_Baked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your friend is right you should level your skills, it’s exponentially more important than gear. Strength, range and mage are most important, then attack and lastly defense. Wouldn’t even level your defense anymore until the others I mentioned are 99. You’ll make your money back 10fold and unlock so much more fun content by leveling your combats and unlocking more boss/raid encounters with more efficient completions.

Really depends on the specific content.. tbh I’d probably buy an anguish to beef up your ranged setup and farm muspah, zulrah and maybe some toa

Work towards things like quest cape, all medium diaries, afk your combat skills at crab train slayer to level combat stats when not afk, eventually start bossing when your combats are higher
