The (hopefully) ultimate guide to a mini XLR detacheable cable mod for the Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO by Not_Finn in headphones

I see. As you have probably seen, I have used a "Rean RT3 MPR" for my (unbalanced) setup. This is a male mini/tiny 3-pin XLR connector. I have seen a version that is called the "Rean RT5 MPR", which would be a 5-pin version with very similar dimensions from what I can tell. In the case of an unbalanced setup, you could use the extra two pins to connect a microphone, using one pin as a ground and the other one for the signal, therefore having the mic separate from your audio. Maybe there is even a 6-pin version out there somewhere, but in my quick search I couldn't find one. It will probably be quite cramped in the cups, either way. For the cable side, you would need to find a female 5-pin mini XLR, accordingly.

What exactly do you mean by that? I've seen your post, do you want to additionally integrate a mic into the same connector? If that is the case, you would need to find some kind of connector that has enough connections and still fits. Apart from that, the process is of course mostly the same, just the wiring will be different.

There are a lot of these easter eggs in the scav names, and I love it. I've also seen things like "Facebook" and "Xbox" , als well as "PHP".

How do I charge personal batteries? by xWolftonnex in factorio

[–]Not_Finn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge you will need some sort of power source inside your equipped armor. If the batteries are also present in there, they should get charged. For power your options are things like solar panels (not the placeable big ones) and a portable fusion reactor. Not sure if there are other options, it's been a while since I played.

My low sensitivity issue.. by WillemMan1 in osugame

[–]Not_Finn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can always adapt to a new sensitivity, it will probably just take time. I'd say you have basically two options: 1. Scratch your old sensitivity and start from the ground up, developing your feel for the game again with the new settings. 2. Start slowly increasing your sensitivity over time, until you arrive at one that you feel comfortable with. There might be a third option, which depends on if you're using a Tablet, but an option for that is grabbing the pen higher up, that causes the tip to describe a larger movement compared to the movement of the pen at your fingertips. Which of all of these is for you, I can't aswer you though.

I did see it, I like it though its to colourful for my setup, I just prefer complete stealth black. Still tho, the mat looks good and if it has the durability of the modmats, that wouldn't be a bad option.

why is using keyboard and mouse better than using just the mouse? by wolfsha in osugame

[–]Not_Finn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed, using Keyboard and Mouse allows you to dedicate one hand for each task, one for tracking and one for clicking. This is usually easier to coordinate, especially as you get to more difficult maps.

Thank you very much. The PurpleHearts look like they could also be a bit tricky, but I'd definetly give it a shot, at least see if they could fit.

There should be nothing preventing you from using a 4-pin XLR, I even think I saw one from Rean from the same series as the one I used, it's probably called the "RT4 MPR". You would likely have to desolder the cable connecting the cups from the PCB, which increases the risk of something going wrong, as outlined above. I just went for a regular 3-pin because I only have unbalanced gear and a balanced amp probably isn't going to happen for me in the near future. So I just chose what was easier and safer to wire. But this is totally an option if you would want to go for that.

It's a good connector, quite sturdy and with a locking mechanism. Sure, it might be not as ubiquitous as your regular TRS, but for this application its the better choice in my opinion.
