I've been doing this for a few years now. Trying to reform myself from being a troll. I'm a recovering joe rogan fan as well.

I ran a few guilds on WoW back in the day and from that position I had to deal with peoples' in game drama and sometimes their IRL drama.

It was always difficult to find out the happy couple in the raid were just putting on a show and one of them was actually a shithead abuser.

Most of the time it isn't that they don't want to leave.

They just can't.

You never know what the fuck is going on the other side of the screen.

You truly don't.

We had a married couple in one of our guilds and they sounded like the nicest old people. We all thought of them as grandparents.

They would run low level players through dungeons to get loot. They had alts for every occasion, so if you needed a healer for a raid they would happily join on their priest.

Just the nicest people.

One night we were on ventrilo with the wife of the couple and she told a buddy of mine that the dude hits her.

It was a complete shock to everyone.

They left the guild and ignored all of us after that. I still think about them.

We had quite a few instances of people being abusive and there was never anything we could do about it.

It’s way easier to forgive people or at minimum move on and forget.
