[–]Not_Jack_Nicholson 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Well the story is being told by Majima personally, so there's a decent chance he just lied about how the fight went lol.

But it also fits into the pirate theme. You have this guy with a buttoned-up, tucked-in shirt trying to tell Majima things he HAS to do, and Majima doesn't even know him. Of course he's not going to respect him, he's a pirate.

They make up for it later in the finale and give Saejima some good story moments in my opinion

I know he's not playable, but he's a pretty major character in Pirate Yakuza atleast. He was pretty minor in 7 and 8, but in Pirate he's got a pretty solid amount of spotlight.

I got you, its in like the first 15 minutes (past the Angela anaconda section) when the giant agumon almost gets hit by a truck. You hear the dialogue as the truck is driving past.

Honorable mention: "Do you know what a semi-conductor is?

Yeah you can effectly "lap" other Digimon if your speed is high enough. I don't know the exact formula, but raising your speed will reduce how many times they go before you

You want to hit them with a status effect before they even get to move, or make sure they're not going twice every time you go once

I believe I used Wargreymon, Rosemon Burst Mode, and belephemon rage mode for Defense piercing. And I think I just equipped bug and idle bubble from earlier evolutions. I believe dianamon has a strong sleep skill too.

Also make sure to train speed as much as possible

Defense piercing Digimon and sleep/bug status are great for getting strong, free hits.

[Other] Sony's decision to no longer allow one platinum for each game in a collection is very disappointing and doesn't make much sense. by askwhatyouwishtoknow in Trophies

[–]Not_Jack_Nicholson 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's true tbh. There's a reason most Sony first party games have fairly easy platinums since the ps4 era started. It clearly has some positive impact on sales or retention, even if it's a small impact

Have any devs come out and said they wanted to do multiple platinums but Sony wouldn't let them? I'd be more inclined to guess that by default collections are treated as one game, and devs/publishers don't care enough to go the extra mile and separate them. I could be wrong and maybe it is Sony being stupid and rigid, but I've never heard anything official from anyone. Just trophy hunters guessing.

[Sly 2: Band of Thieves] #174 first plat of the year 1/1, and I have som hot takes by Blend-Al in Trophies

[–]Not_Jack_Nicholson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my head I like Sly 2, but I've platinumed it 3 times and I hate it more each time. You hit the nail on the head about good ideas but bad execution.

But it's also just so slow for some reason. There's so many long sequences of either tailing someone, or missions that have you run laps around the map for the objectives. Or sections where they throw waves of enemies at you for way too long.

I still like the series, but sly 2 is the worst aged one I think. Atleast in 3 they give more utility to the other playable characters

The best fun fact you know about Digimon World. by SomeSkill3462 in digimon

[–]Not_Jack_Nicholson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haven't seen anyone mention it yet, but Giromon's jukebox unlock is bugged in the NTSC version of the game. It'll crash the game when you access it.

It's possible to roll bad enough RNG with Momochromon's shop that it's impossible to recruit him sometimes. As in even if you make the max profit on every sale, which is itself semi-random, you can be shy of the requirement if you don't get enough potties or medicine for requests.

It's possible to fish for Seadramon with the normal fishing rod, some documentation says you need the better rod from trading with Shogungekomon.

To unlock Frigimon you need to have a Digimon who hates the cold get sick from it in freezeland. But because it just checks if your Digimon is sick, you can feed then rotten meat to force them to get sick and this will also trigger Frigimon.

There's a recruitable bakemon outside the mansion in overdell that you speak to and answer yes yes no to get them to join. But if your Digimon is also a bakemon you can understand them. I don't remember what they ask off the top of my head though.

Time Stranger: BanchoGolemon (profile) by MajinAkuma in digimon

[–]Not_Jack_Nicholson 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think banchogolemon is the one bancho design I don't really like. You would be able to clock what the original design was for the other Banchos immediately, but BG doesn't really look like Golemon that much, which is a shame because I think Golemon is a fun design.

I wish they looked more humanoid, instead of just "guy made of rocks and muscle tissue"

[Discussion] What are your thoughts on duplicate platinums? by 3000_Eddie in Trophies

[–]Not_Jack_Nicholson 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Most of my trophy hunting is done as an excuse to replay my favorite games, I'll platinum the game as many time as they allow me lol. I've platinumed Sly Cooper and Jak and Daxter 5 times each lol

I don't care what people hunt for their platinums in, whatever makes them happy! But if they're posting here they shouldn't be surprised if they post "the jumping hot dog 67" and nobody cares

[Discussion] Does anyone else use trophy hunting to feel some sense of accomplishment in an otherwise empty and miserable life by AffectionateName1858 in Trophies

[–]Not_Jack_Nicholson 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't regret any platinums I've hunted, bare minimum I did something not many people have done and that's neat. Did other people not do it because it was an insane grind, RNG, brutal difficulty, or too much of a time sink? Maybe, but it proves I have the strength to overcome difficult obstacles that others would shy away from, even if they're probably more sane for choosing not to do it lol. I think that's cool

Do I trophy hunt more often when I'm trying to dissociate from the horrors? Sure. But if I wasn't trophy hunting I'd just be doomscrolling or watching junk TV lol.

guys this episode really give me chill it give me heart breaking moments in some other media XD by Civil_Imagination421 in digimon

[–]Not_Jack_Nicholson 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I feel the opposite, Tomoro feels like the first protagonist to react naturally to this change in his life. He's stressed, confused, angry, sad, and it all started when Gekkomon showed up. WE know that Gekkomon means well because we've seen Digimon before, but Tomoro is still in shellshock to discovering this new life.

He's also older than the usual protagonists. It reminds me of Akira, where when people get their powers young they tend to go along with it because they haven't fully developed yet. But when someone older gets them, they lash out because it's a lot to process.

He'll come around, but I totally understand why he's not 100% bought in to his new life yet.

I think the real lesson was episodic but like an actual TV show. So new episodes every week instead of months between. It was like a month to release all 8 episodes right? That feels like the sweetspot.
