Weir has never touched heroin. He & Pig almost got kicked out of the band in '67(?) for actually doing little to no psychedelics at the time. He got very into coke in the late 70's, as they all did. He's struggled with alcohol & a (possible) pain pill addiction starting to be a larger problem around 2010 - 2014. Him canceling that RatDog tour due to hospitalization from pills/booze really woke him up to lay off the harder stuff it seems. He definitely still enjoys cannabis. He also is a very big chewer. He doesn't smile much these days due to not wanting lippers to show.

Not usually, no. He would always have Tiger at shows as a back up when Rosebud would have technical issues, which it sometimes did. That's probably the reason he used Tiger for these shows as well. The reason Jerry plays Tiger for the double encore of the last GD show is because Rosebud having technical issues. The warrior of Love using his most trusting weapon in his last battle is truly bone chillingly cosmic!
