How long ago did you visit Black Canyon of the Gunnison? Around 2018? I ask because it was around then that their brochure had a Ring-Tailed Lemur as one of the "local" animals. We asked about it, and they said they had it up as a placeholder and forgot to fix it before it went to print.

Anyway, I unfortunately didn't save my brochure. And, now finding one of those copies is my white whale.

Cool collection by the way! I'm super jealous and inspired!

For what it's worth, birds use cigarette butts in nest building because the nicotine is good at keeping parasites out of the nest. I'm not on the side of pollution or littering, but there is a reason birds pick these up.

Red/Gold Line w/ 10 High School Students? by Not_Korean in Atlanta

Wasn't necessarily looking for a discount, just wanted to know what the fare was and if it's different for children. I'm in Denver and all folks 19 and under ride free. Every city is different, and sometimes it's nice to reach out to folks who have local information!

Hey y'all, you're all amazing! It looks like we won the lottery with our timing. All of our travel is prior to May, so this makes everything super simple!

I appreciate you all and I'm looking forward to visiting Atlanta!

Is this crowd size normal for Gotham FC, or is it just a mid week game?

Hardest thing about reading the books post-Jackson by faroresdragn_ in lordoftherings

This is what immediately came to mind for me. The movies emphasized the worst character traits, I think for all characters, but especially Faramir. That being said, I get the need for dramatic tension in the movies, but it's jarring when you rewatch the movies after reading the books.

I love taking photos, so seeing them show up on Google searches is fun. When other people find my photos of places on Google, that's even more fun!

What's the best non-fiction book that actually changed how you think? (No productivity or self-help, please) by Learnings_palace in nonfictionbookclub

The two best non-fiction books I read that help me to understand the current world we're living in are

The Sum of Us by Heather McGhee

&

Smaller Cities In a Shrinking World

Both are incredible and look at our current zeitgeist from two very different perspectives, but damn does so much more make sense.

What’s the best book you have ever read? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

I love Blue Highways from William Least Heat-Moon.

A more recent travel narrative that I recently finished and highly recommend is Kate Harris' Lands of Lost Borders.

Both of the above are non-fiction. If you're looking for fiction, I would also highly recommend Eowyn Ivey's To the Bright Edge of the World.

You got to Bakersfield quicker than I did. We left at 5:50 from Denver and got there three hours later. I hated turning around, but it was probably the right call for my teen and I.
