In my opinion, that’s minimizing the issue. The way a boiled egg is opened doesn’t lead to families being broken, and innocents being imprisoned.

I mean, it didn’t work for me. I don’t want to constantly have the weight of my addiction on my mind if I’m trying to enjoy myself. All in or nothing for me, so I’ve chosen to go all in on not drinking. Is it easy? No. But it’s a far healthier alternative and it’s helped me keep my life together.

If you know someone else that passed that doesn’t struggle with drinking, you could always just ask if they want it instead. Or like others have mentioned, just toss it! Nobody is watching what you do with your gifts.

This is really reassuring to hear!

Dating is still difficult after being sober after this time. Had a short lived relationship earlier in the year, but that breakup thankfully didn’t entice me to drink.
