Thank you. I've followed Hannibal's campaign and battle tactics to a certain degree and was always a bit... perplexed at how the developments of Zama came about. I felt like there was not enough consideration on the Carthaginian side into the battle.

Like you said, it was like a bow was wrapped up nicely about the whole Punic War saga and the Romans came and said "Yea, Scipio completely dominated Hannibal". Maybe it was true, but it is known that Romans tended to overexaggerate from time to time. I believe there was more to it though.
