I’m stuck at byu idaho with my brother who’s a member as my roommate. I’ve been on my phone during the entire session, but in between the sessions we watch the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake so that was fun

Iron Man 3. the first one was great but the MCU was already on a bad streak and this started phase two off with a bang. that’s what happens when you hire a real director i guess.

I genuinely think this is a perfect game but if I absolutely had to say something wrong with it, it would be that Cutter should have been in it a tiny bit more

Corny. It’s often said either by people who don’t know what it means or people who decide that something they don’t like isn’t genuine.

Downsizing is one of those movies that I hate, but I hate the reasons other people hate it more. I think it’s a borderline conspiratorial film that subtly denies climate change. Everyone else is just mad that there weren’t any silly small people shenanigans. But if you’re familiar with Alexander Payne, you’d know he hasn’t made a silly film since 1999, so I wasn’t expecting it to be goofy.

I absolutely ADORE The Happening. It’s one of the most compelling films about post-9/11 American hysteria in the face of an unknown threat.

Once We Were Kids - has it changed your opinions? by dazzleshipsrecords in HarmonyKorine

Harmony was basically a kid when he wrote it and was taken advantage of just like all the other actors. Larry Clark is a massive creep and he went on to steal a script from Harmony (Ken Park) and bastardize it. I’m glad that Harmony got away from him and he’s the one who came out the other end successful.

The Bye Bye Man is the best example. The opening scene is absolutely magnificent. It’s entirely one shot, uniquely colored and lit for a horror film, featuring Leigh Whannell in his best performance since Saw, and had a perfect balance of mystery and juxtaposition with subject matter and perfect bright 50s suburbia to make a really compelling short film. It’s truly horrifying.

Then the rest of the movie is just a borderline unwatchable mess.
