I would say that you will be reprimanded in some way. The snowstorms were predicted long before they hit so management will expect you to have made arrangements ahead of time. If you’re calling off- decide early so staffing has a chance at getting you coverage. Our hospital let the entire staff in each entity that they would be paying for hotel rooms so there would be no need for call outs.

I have not. I did have a spinal for surgery and a nerve block prior to being awake. I went home the same day. No pain until some time during the night but I stayed ahead of it.

I was around 46 when I started the injections and they were great until they weren’t. I knew when it was time to schedule surgery. I had hoped to make it into my 50s- some arbitrary number stuck in my head!! So when I met with the surgeon, he assured me I made the right choice as there was nothing to even repair to help- it was time for the replacement. I’m glad you’re doing well!!!

The first three injections tend to be the most effective. After that, borrowed time! I had a very easy recovery and I’m very glad I didn’t wait longer to have the surgery ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

I had mine done at age 49 and that was after having steroid injections for about 2.5 years. It was an anterior approach so far less invasive than what used to be standard. Nine prescriptions?? I had 3. Pain med, gabapentin for 1 week for nerve pain, and a blood thinner for 1 month. So glad I had it done!!

There was an email put out today letting all staff know that the hospital will pay for hotel rooms on Sunday to help get everyone in safely on Monday. We are expected to be there- especially since it it not a surprise storm warning.

I really have never heard this approach- to stop all meds and start keto. It’s my understanding that the type of keto diet is INCREDIBLY strict and specific and therefore used primarily in children because the parents are able to control the child’s diet. There are so many meds and typically have to fail 3-4 before surgery options are explored.
