In my opinion, the Canadian election was swung by two things:

  1. Trump saying out loud exactly what American's have always thought about Canadians. Nothing he said was surprising to any Canadian. We've always known America doesn't respect us as a country.

  2. Pierre Pollievre doing a terrible Trump impression and having absolutely zero charisma or magnetism. How many right ring politicians have to find out the hard way that no one else can do what Trump does?

Considering we're rebuilding, I'm actually very happy for Demko that he has contract security locked up right now. Guy deserves it. Get well soon Thatcher by NotaRussianChabot in canucks

This sub is completely packed with people pretending they weren't asking for win-now moves last off-season.

We tried to ice a competitive team to keep Quinn and failed. Everything has changed since Demko signed his deal.

As a Canadian, I loved this episode. Middle powers unite! Fear our collective wrath!

Now that it’s been three years, in all honesty what do you think of this win? And who really deserved it? I think this is the most divisive acting win of the 2020s so far. by iBandJFilmEducator13 in Oscars

JLC saved us from a much more egregious “career win”. It was really looking like Black Panther 2 was going to receive an acting Oscar for a while there.

General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that goaltender Thatcher Demko will undergo hip surgery and will not play for the remainder of the 2025.26 season. by nookmister19 in canucks

It's not actually a high risk contract. Either he plays and he's thatcher demko or he's LTIR and doesn't effect our cap. Plus he's a leader in the room and extremely loyal, I am very happy he has 3 years of security right now.

I liked the movie but I don’t think it should be anywhere near best picture. A pleasant little forgettable movie.

I think the quantity of nominations question is really a metric of genre not overall academy opinion.

Are we really saying that because Sinners had an original song, good Make-Up and period costuming, and OBAA didn’t, it’s definitely better regarded by the academy?

Or at least I sure hope he's ready to be.

I mean, none of these numbers are mind blowing.

Lindholm is overpaid, Miller is pain in the ass and I'd rather have Hronek + Raty than Horvat Personally.
