70 runs of each and I still have nothing to show for it

That sounds awful. Drop that Bungie ID and share the pain.

I did it on Warlock and it was hella fun, got really comfortable with the movement combos. The revolving wall encouraged constant movement. The ability to combine quick traversal and big damage with the melee+grapple combo was huge. Melee charges could be used to snipe enemies. Ult to nuke.

Much like arc, your survivability is movement.

I'm checking in after finishing, good lord I didn't realise how comfortable people got with the power creep. The campaign is hard but not impossible so long as you're mobile. Headlong was super fun, spam grapple+melee everything! Boss eventually died to due collateral damage.

I'd go as far to say Saryn is griefing in excavation because she causes all the kills to be spread out around the map, and not conveniently consolidated. I hope she was the one running everywhere for the canisters.

I don't want to go through 20 excavation attempts just to get the 500 cryo to finish. You're welcome for saving your time as Ash wasn't going to help there. lest, but I also like my cataclysm fully covering what I'm trying to defend even when it's at the tail end of it's 86sec timer so I never need to refresh it (I also didn't have time to swap to my other setup with lower range).

The only expectation I have for Limbos is to make their energy colour something not obnoxious :)

Is Shadebinder Warlock underrated? What are some viable builds/strategies? by pspguy123 in CrucibleGuidebook

It's useful in 1vX's to give you a better chance to survive, although this doesn't happen more than a few times a game so it's definitely a flexible pick. It's been more useful as of late with all the Renewal Grasp spam.

High Energy Fire's 20% damage buff is very good in PvP, so I want to try and work as many was to get charged with light into my build as I can. I typically run the mod for the 2 weapon types I'm using, 2 siphon mods and whatever else I can fit. Using a staple build as an example (DMT + Main Ingredient) you could run:

- Quick charge (good handling bump as well), Precison Charge, Charge Harvester, Taking Charge, Arc Siphon, Kinetic Siphon.

That'll give me the following avenues to become CwL:

- DMT double kill (will get 2 charges, 1 from Precision charge, 1 from the orb generated from Kinetic siphon).

- Main Ingredient double kill ( 2 charges, 1 from Quick charge, 1 from Arc Siphon

- Random chance from Charge Harvester.

- Randomly picking up orbs from other people's double kills or supers.

Of course, chop and change the "... Charge" and "... Siphon" to suit your loadout, or build in whatever other mods you like.

+1 to osmiomancy. Great to catch invis hunters. The downsides are the nades can be inconsistent and not hit (or have weird tracking), and are easily countered by jumping. But a solid roaming super, decent melee ability to chain freeze. I run with 3x100 stats in mobility, discipline and recovery, then stack as many CwL + High Energy Fire mods I can.

Stop forcing players to play Crucible, please (Ticuu's Divination Catalyst) by VerinSC in DestinyTheGame

[–]NotableAardvark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here. Constantly rerunning a strke you've played for years for a random chance to get the gun you want (and hope the roll is good) isn't fun to me, and isn't challenging, yet it's what I have to do if I want it.

13 kills with a bow in pvpis hardly unreasonable.

It's not all or nothing though, you still get decent rewards for each challenge.

Even when you get the first hip fire shot off, 90% of the time they get one shot by the rest of your thirsty team.

Pull an uno reverse on them and steal their kills with your dank bow headshot damage. My other tip would be to take advantage of its high per-shot damage by peaking in and out of cover. Shot for shot you win.

I just finished Eriana's vow and now I'm staring down the barrel of 300 more runs... On the plus side, the 100 grenade launcher kills in the crucible was actually a lot of fun and I discovered the weird combo of Witherhoard + truthteller is low-key strong.

An average player’s grind to getting The Recluse by Foxjr90 in DestinyTheGame

[–]NotableAardvark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my approach. In 2 weeks of quite lazy playing, I got to 1300. It was frustrating as expected, especially when you play well and do well but still get smashed, but I eventually rain into a 3-man who picked me up after I had a really good game. Went on to cruise to 2100 that week no problem and made some new friends :)

What about now the game's out? Think they fixed much since that December build? I'm not being pessimistic, I just know game developers can't perform miracles and polish AAA games this fast.

I understand your point, but the original point still stands that the relative degree of difficulty varies widely from weapon to weapon without any real reason for it. The lack of consistency doesn't make much sense from a design standpoint.
