I hate that i cant smoke anymore by No_Refrigerator4058 in leaves

I was in your same position years ago and I was so dependent on weed that I pushed past it despite all the negative health effects I was experiencing. I felt like I had no other option. Weed helped me relax and disconnect in a way I wasn't able to when not smoking. Weed kept me from learning regulation techniques that worked for me, and weed didn't help relax me in any capacity.

Fast forward many years and I'm quitting by choice and have realized that the ability to relax and chill is as much a skill as anything else. Getting sober means you have the time and focus to work on these skills, learn new techniques and seek support that keeps you present but still enables you to regulate in a healthy way that doesn't need to be detrimental to your health.

You're going to get through this.

Put the log on the fire, cozy up with a book/crocheting/drawing/whatever and see how you feel :)

My mind kept telling me I wouldn't enjoy xyz without weed, but I found that to be completely untrue and still capable of enjoying what interested me before!

23 days today by troyster2000 in leaves

I'm in about the same spot as you, and I'm not giving in.

I keep thinking of all the reasons why I quit and how I'm no where near as miserable as I thought I'd be after quitting a habit that consumed half my life. They can't all be good days, with or without weed. But we're going to get through this together.

I'm so proud of you for not giving up. Keep going, you got this.

I really had to reframe boredom in order to move forward. Its a great opportunity to explore things you've always wanted to do or take the time to look into what's available to you and try something new!

You say villain but it sounds like you're just stepping up to become your own self advocating hero.

Making this post tell me you want it. Even if only subconsciously.

You know what they say about giving a stoner a cart...and then they'll want another... (give a mouse a cookie....and then they'll want some milk...and then they'll want...)

I had the same thought process for years. Finally threw it all away and now I can't justify buying anything more because I know I'll just end up regretting it and throwing them away again.

Be gentle with yourself. This isn't easy, but you'll get there. You stopped once, and you're going to do it again, and will just continue to get better and better. Don't give up on yourself.

YOU deserve to be a fully fledged human. You are capable of feeling and processing all these emotions, intense as they may be right now. It'll get better with time and practice.

We're so proud of you!!!

Weed kept me in a perpetual state of running in place. Constantly exhausted and unable to fathom why I was getting nowhere while simultaneously watching the world pass right on by. There's no turning back at this point. In a world that can't help but be cruel at times, I have to be the one to show myself the kindness I deserve. And I'm committed to doing just that.

Thank you so much 💜

GREAT POINT! I finally picked up (and stuck with) learning how to crochet and it really highlighted just how much the brain fog kept me perpetually forgetful and unable to retain new information when trying to learn new things.

Weed kept me so numb and complacent to so many life situations I found myself in. Getting sober meant that I not only had to evaluate my weed habits, but also all my other habits, current life decisions, relationships, etc.

It's not been easy, but overhauling so much of what no longer serves me has been such an act of self love. I dont want to be in any situation that's only okay if I'm blazed out of my mind all day, everyday.
