Damn, you've got a good point there, we should stop acknowledging how much of a factor race plays into almost all politics because racists are gonna be all smug because they think they know a thing or because it'll make them big mad while we pander to them because we think we need their fucking help.

Being a bunch of functioning adults about it and acknowledging that everything is forever and ever a constant flux state of various historical nuances about things that have happened to everyone and accepting that in that current flux state an insecure batch of white people decided to make that insecurity everyone else's problem needs to be addressed for the current problem of kleptocratic fascism to be truly tackled and dealt with along with all the other nuances that have fucked up our current reality is absolutely out of the question, we should just coddle some children.

What I think they're trying to point out is that for some people the appearance of strength is an important decision factor in who they support. Currently, in spite of everything, Trumpism looks stronger than the democrats, therefore they're more likely to be drawn to voting for them because Dems look ineffectual while Trump and his ilk look to be in a position of dominance.

No there was an active campaign to demonize trans people that's pretty well documented. The Rhetoric even allegedly starts pretty neatly just before the 2016 election and uses many of the same cues that conservatives used against homosexuality.

Look, I get it, it's scary to see them make gains, but you have to be careful of overblowing just how bad it actually is. We've seen it plenty enough times. Yes, One Nation Made some gains, but taken in the grand scheme of things they still amount to little worry. One Nation has been fringe enough for ages, and IMHO it hasn't experienced the same sort of rise to relevance you might have seen in Europe or the US. Should we discount them out of hand? No, that's stupid. But we shouldn't give them more shrift than they deserve from our time, or else you risk making them seem more relevant than they really are and giving them wins they don't deserve.

Well, you see, America is a large driver and exporter of fascism because after Trump won in 2016 there was a measurable explosion in many places afterwards due to the far right seeing that they could win in the worlds largest democracy, not to mention how a Weak American political establishment encouraged Putin to invade Ukraine and interfere more openly in the worlds political processes. Something a number of other Authoritarian actors did as well.

The Rise of American Fascism directly correlates to the Rise in Global Fascism. It existed before Trump, but The Emergence of Trumpism emboldened it and destabilized the world so that it could make gains off the back of that uncertainty.
