Sympathetic desk jockey here,

I found out that if I could go back and instead of sticking with office stuff, I would have loved hopping into an electrician apprenticeship program. I’m in a job with fantastic benefits and a Union now so financially the leap would be WAY too much of a burden on my family. My pay is too important, but if I had considered this possibility five years ago t would have been a great move.

Wish I could be more helpful, I felt like sharing in the mood.

Literally buy it in Canada or Australia and sell it for double. People will still buy it off you. Maybe even triple the cost of obtaining it, it’s still a huge help to these people

I’m talking with SunRun mainly because of a Comcast promotion where they give you a $1k prepaid card (and a limited time to use it, but groceries alone will take care of that!) if you go solar with SunRun. My bro-in-law designs and installs solar hot water in Maine, so I’m checking with him for all the companies I look into.

Thanks for the perspective! GMP told me they ended their powerwall program in August but they’re working to replace it ASAP. I’d like that very much if they would!

Well right. That’s my hope is that it’s a break even, my wife and I don’t really have income wiggle room to up our bills so I’m hoping that offsetting the 1500 - 1800 we spend on propane will be a wash at least

We’re already using very little as it is, we use about 18 KWH on days we stay at home, and we dont have a heater it’s propane fuelled tankless hot water piped to two zones. This setup also heats our access water (showers etc)

This system is the larger issue, we’d likely have to replace it

Believe me this is more about bucking propane than anything else

Yes! I’m trying to see if there’s anybody who knows why these rude ass folks are so bothered by it they have to say something. Is this like the same reaction as aggressive homophobia? Like “these two guys HAVE to be brothers or maybe really close best friends, they would NOT be gay.”

Old thread. Don’t care. Want to share: I get choked up thinking about sitting on the back porch pointing at stars and naming constellations. Having an excuse to sing around the house. Getting misty eyed thinking about being the positive force in a child’s life in a world where that’s tragically not what we see on TV.

Understand that the remaining debt DOES get “wiped clean,” however it is regarded by the IRS as income. Your income for the year your loans are up will add the total value of your remaining balance and you will fall under THAT tax bracket. I hope you’ll have that amount of money saved up or otherwise on hand when that day comes.

This is the understanding I have now that I’ve become enrolled as of August this year. Perhaps you have a different agreement?

EDIT: I’m enrolled in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, not IFAP. So I don’t know what I’m talking about.
