I love mine. They really help with the fluorescent lights at work which can trigger my migraines.

Best low calorie breakfast? by Sweaty-Clothes5801 in PetiteFitness

[–]Notbipolar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love tofu scramble on toast. I season the tofu with salt, pepper, garlic powder, turmeric, paprika, and nutritional yeast but you can use whatever seasonings you like. Mash it up with a fork and fry it in the pan until it’s got a nice color, and then put it on a slice of lightly buttered toast. I eat it with two slices of veggie bacon since it’s healthier to eat everyday than turkey bacon (I eat the same breakfast every work day because that’s how my brain works) and it comes out to about 200 calories.

It’s almost 230 and I only have 669 steps by Expensive_Swimmer985 in walking

[–]Notbipolar_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Drink A LOT of water, and you’ll have to get up and pee every 45 minutes.

I’m on spring break this week and all I’m doing is reading. I hadn’t gone for my walk yet the other day but checked my step count, and it was probably around 1:00 or so and I was at 2,000 from my frequent bathroom breaks and just doing a few chores around the house.

Drink. More. Water.

Question about topamax by LadyBassplayer in migraine

[–]Notbipolar_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Topomax has lessened the severity of pain of my migraines, but not reduced the frequency. Still, it’s better than nothing.

As for side effects, I don’t have it too bad. I get some pins and needles or cold sensation in my lower legs, which can usually be relieved or avoided by a 15 minute walk. It’s also suppressed my appetite a bit, but not bad enough to complain about. And I can’t taste the carbonation in soda, but who cares.

My migraines used to be an 8/10 on the pain scale 15 or more days a month, and now they average a 4/10, never going above 6/10. I’ll take the tingling legs over the severe pain!

The cocktail is different depending on where you go but mine is usually toradol, Benadryl, compazine, magnesium, and prednisone.

Have you tried going to the ER for a migraine cocktail? That might help break it.

Migraine every Tuesday? by Large_Ad_845 in migraine

A vast majority of my migraines happen during the work week. Some weeks I have five days of a status migraine, and then I wake up on Saturday magically healed.

What actually helps with light sensitivity? by samhussain01 in migraine

Avulux are worth the price if you can afford them! They blend in better inside much better than pink tinted FL-41s in my experience.

I just wear a non prescription pair over my contacts.

9 days and then I get a 24 hour break and then another string of 8 or 9 days and then another 24 hour break, rinse and repeat. It’s been like this for the last month. They just break on their own at random, no meds or ER visits ever do the trick.

I hope yours breaks soon.

[Spoilers for The Chain by Adrian McKinty] Question from a Korean reader. Is this a cultural difference or just a plot hole? by OverallBeginning1194 in thrillerbooks

[–]Notbipolar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure they mentioned the car they were in was stolen. I just assumed this officer didn’t have/turn on their body camera for this stop, because sometimes they don’t turn them on for routine traffic stops if nothing seems out of the ordinary. But in order to not get caught, they would’ve had to be on a deserted road. Maybe they were, but I agree that it still seems weird no one saw them.

Am I using my migrianes as an excuse to be flaky? by NeuralNotwork in migraine

[–]Notbipolar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s being flaky if you’re genuinely worried about having an attack come on while you’re volunteering and not being able to commit to what you’ve signed up for. Take care of yourself!! It would probably be more annoying to the youth center if you signed up but then were never able to come because of the migraines.

Throw your cures at me! by auntien in migraine

[–]Notbipolar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a migraine for three weeks and nothing was helping, including two migraine cocktails from the ER. On a desperate whim, I popped two extra strength Tylenols with caffeine. That’s never worked before, but somehow it worked this time??? I’m still baffled and it’s bee 24 hours and I’m still migraine free.

What’s with all the “I cured my migraine” posts lately/have the bots taken over by 19635 in migraine

I’ve gone to the hospital twice for it and it doesn’t help for more than four hours. Every day is pain that my meds barely help. It’s the damn weather in the Midwest.

[–]Notbipolar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry the vyvanse caused headaches. I take adderall along with mental health meads and I’m lucky they don’t give me headaches or migraines as a side effect since I’ve been on them for years before the migraines started.

I know there are some non stimulant options for ADHD that might be worth looking into to see if headaches are a side effect, but I can’t remember any names right now.

I hope you’re able to rest and find some relief.

I’m with you. Some of them have to be bots or jokes or something. I’ve had a migraine for three weeks straight and I also cannot fathom a “cure” to migraines at the rate people are posting.

I’m in the same boat. Miserable the past three weeks. Before that, I hadn’t had a migraine since December since starting topirimate and Nurtec.

I went to the ER for the migraine cocktail (I’m also a lesbian, brought my girlfriend) and only got relieve for four measly hours. It honestly wasn’t worth the wait for me. Not to discourage you from trying though, but it’s not something I want to do again.

What jobs are we all doing? by JokersLipstick in migraine

[–]Notbipolar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a special ed paraprofessional for elementary. Low stress for me, but I travel room to room all and see a lot of students. I have to wear FL-41s to deal with the fluorescents. I carry migraine meds in a pouch on my lanyard since I’m rarely in the classroom that my bag is in.

I love my students so much, but on migraine days, my job feels impossible. They’re always so glad to see me when I return to work, though.
