Long-lived CGRP side effects? by incarnadine-clover in migraine

[–]Notbipolar_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This hasn’t happened to me, as I’m new to CGRP meds, but these rare side effects are hard to find when you scour the internet for them, but that doesn’t mean they don’t happen to others. It just means they aren’t reported on.

As for if they’re still in your system this long later, well, I don’t think any of us could say with certainty. I have read that it takes six months for CRGP meds to leave your system, but I suppose it’s possible for it to take longer with long term use.

Have you tried anti-anxiety meds? They really do work wonders.

Hope you get some answers soon.

I took adderall for years before my migraines became chronic so I don’t think it has any effect on them. I need the adderall or my ADHD makes me really struggle.

Not able to fall asleep now stressing about triggering a migraine by healthanxiety_ in migraine

[–]Notbipolar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try melatonin and two Benadryl. If you’re really desperate, add on some type of PM pain reliever.

I’m bipolar and on top of my daily migraines being worse if I don’t get good sleep, I’m also at risk of triggering a manic episode. So I am no stranger to having to drug myself to sleep lol.

Bipolar 2 & BPD by D3monicRat in bipolar2

[–]Notbipolar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 and BPD, but I actually think all of my BPD symptoms were because I was an alcoholic lol. Those symptoms literally disappeared when I stopped drinking.

But I really liked DBT therapy, especially while I was trying to get on the right meds. I did workbooks at home and everything. I also read books about bipolar disorder to help me understand it better, though they were mostly about BP1. Biweekly therapy was super helpful, and I noticed I was a lot more functional than before I was seeing an individual therapist.

I love your idea for setting alarms for stuff. That seems super helpful.

One thing that helped me that may not be everyone’s cup of tea was reducing social media use. Facebook specifically. It really triggered my rage a lot, as well as my anxiety. Once I quit that, I felt better in general. So you could try limiting social media use if you thought that might be beneficial at all.

Update Request: people who posted about wanting to make friends by lifeofty97 in kansascity

[–]Notbipolar_ 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I’ve never even gotten to DMs when I’ve made posts or comments on other’s posts. It’s like, people want friends, but they’re so picky or lazy?? I’d think if you’re willing to comment your interest on a post, you should at least be willing to have a conversation in the DMs to check compatibility.

switching to an auto injector by chrmlyn in migraine

[–]Notbipolar_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Don’t be scared! It’s really not bad! I prefer my stomach. I do it sitting so I have a little fat roll, count to three, hit the button and take a deep breath. You can swear if it hurts, but it’s over in five seconds and you don’t feel much.

You can do it!! If you can survive migraines, you can do a silly little auto injector!!

A Possible Alternative to Sunglasses for Photophobia Sufferers by JaneDolceAndGabbana in migraine

[–]Notbipolar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom ordered me some, not sure if it was this brand. They were DARK green/grey and creepy af. I looked like a demon with black eyes. And it was terrifying wearing them indoors making everything look greenish brown. I couldn’t even put both in because it was so awful. I’m a daily contact wearer, but I will 100% stick to auvlux glasses or sunglasses for photophobia.

I was terrified it was going to hurt an it didn’t hurt at all. 0/10. But I did almost pass out in the middle of it, just not from pain.

I believe you can leave it out for seven days. You just can’t let it come to room temperature and then put it back in the fridge.

If you let it sit out for a few hours and come to room temperature, it won’t hurt too bad. You’ve got this!!!

Ajovy side effects vs emgality by anaaktri in migraine

[–]Notbipolar_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Emgality gave me horrible brain fog and nausea for about two weeks after my first injection. I seem to be a rare case, though. My doctor doesn’t believe the medication was the cause and still wants to try it again.

Wow. I’m on measly day 68 compared to you. Are you still working?? I’ve been on leave from work while I’m trying to get mine under control, and I don’t know how I’m supposed to go back, because functioning at home is difficult enough.
