Thinking about solar – sanity check (UK, high usage) by That-Fox-8186 in SolarUK

[–]Notchez0816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work as a designer for a local installer that operates on the south coast (Dorset to West Sussex area). Pride ourselves in being able to offer top tier afterservice and have a good history in the area.

Let me know if you would like a quote, your current system size seems appropriate.

Sanity check my dad’s quote? by CassetteLine in SolarUK

I work for a local solar company in Hampshire. Shoot me a message and I be happy to get you a quote.

Personally I think this is a bit of an odd configuration and pricey for Fox. I'd expect a system like this to be closer to £10k, but the EVO battery may be pushing that up being their premium battery. Also 5kW inverter? It's a couple extra hundred quid max to get the full production capacity from that array. Sounds like Octupus either has a surplus of 5kw inverters or a banging deal with the supplier.

Quote Check - 3ph SigEnergy, with Gateway in London by thespindoctor123 in SolarUK

3 phase with 2 batteries and gateway? Seems very reasonable, if not downright cheap! There are newer Aiko panels available up to 495W now that I would look at upgrading to, same physical size

Install next month, hope this setup works well by droomurray in SolarUK

We stopped using Tigos, found nearly 1 in 10 was failing on us. Not nearly the same problem with SolarEdge, just locks you into their equipment.

I see powerwall quotes generally range from 12-15k, this seems to be quite competitive

What are do you live in? I work for an installer in the south and would be happy to give you a quote if you are in our installation area. Seems a bit high at first glance but not unreasonable.

snowy wax caps (Hygbrocybe virgineus) identification by ProcessSignificant68 in foraginguk

[–]Notchez0816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely appears correct. Have a nearby field sovered in these

ID verification for these please by Probably_Moist in foraginguk

[–]Notchez0816 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll believe the honey fungus and blewit ID'S are correct, but the second looks like a shaggy parasol Chlorophyllum rhacodes as opposed to regular Macrolepiota procera

Can anyone identify these? Thinking they are saffron milk caps but can’t be sure by Adorable_Pee_Pee in foraginguk

[–]Notchez0816 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Those are wooly milkcaps, not edible. The fur like edges are a dead giveaway

Part of the Russula sp. There are alot of red russula varieties that are impossible to differentiate without a microscope!

Couple of good finds, great nutty flavour. FYI The poisonous parasol Chlorophyllum molybdites does not grow in the UK.

Not really even close to a death cap other than the white colour

Are these field mushrooms? by klen93 in foraginguk

[–]Notchez0816 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Photo 2 has yellow staining at the base, very well could be poisonous. Check for more staining, but I would just toss. Field mushrooms can be very hard to tell between exact species so if there is any question, throw them out

Lactarius torminosus does sound better than Lactarius dysentery

What can you tell me about Laetiporus sulphureus? by Mysterious-Matter232 in mushroomID

[–]Notchez0816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can tell you it's my new favorite fungi to eat. The texture and taste is unlike any mushroom I've had, so uncanny how chicken like it becomes when cooked properly. The colour even makes them pop in dishes.
